Thats what i like to see, the car being used. I bet you're neighbours love you!

Anyway, 6 months really isnt long as legendary cars like this tend to stay with their owners for some time. Take it you must have had some interesting cars before the F40?

My problem is I only like supercars especially Lamborghinis. The only Ferraris I like are the 288GTO, F40, F50 and possibly the Enzo is in there too so not affordable at the moment. Probably the only car i like that i can afford is the earlier Diablo but it is the car of my dreams which is obviously a bonus! Different class to the F40 though!

Been to many foreign motor shows as the ones in the UK are terrible, Geneva was probably one of the best and i would highly recommend it.

Believe it or not F40 is my first special car. First Fcar. Had triumph spitfire in highschool and alfa spider veloce in college... so always had the desire for something a bit different. Don't come from money so had to wait for finances to allow. Dreamed and planned for a while (a few years). It actually took a while to settle on the F40 as the car I wanted. Then took a little over a year to find a good one. Some had too many miles, some too few. (mine had 4700 when I got it) Hope to get a couple more F-cars in the future,... Prob get a 456M GT for the family later this year. But I'll never part with the F40!

Went to Geneva Show in 2003 it was spectacular. Carrera GT was there, and got invited to see that. Pagani had 2 cars there, and was able to sit in those. If I recall correctly, F-car had just come out with the stradale and that was at Geneva along with the enzo, alas I couldn't get behind the rope!

Bought the Real F40 then E-bay'd the model that same week.

I went back and forth on which ferrari to get for a while. Did I want a car I could take to a restaurant and be comfortable leaving in a parking lot? Or did I want something less useable, but more special. The F40 causes a near riot everywhere I take it. I very seldom leave it unattended, and then only in relatiively safe locations. During my plan and dream phase, the F40 always rose to the top.

The plan has always been to get 3.

A family car: prob a 456 but maybe a 612. can't afford a classic superamerica, but I do like the 250 GTE's. so that's a possibility, but as I live in florida, the 250 wouldn't be very useable, (need very good a/c!) so almost certainly will go the 456M 6-speed route. can go away for a weekend pretty easily in that car and not worry about it!

A convertible: This is where it gets tricky. I love both the 575 Superamerica and a 365 GTS/4 daytona spider. Price will probably dictate that I go for the modern super-america. plus then might have enough left over for a 275GTB or at least a daytona coupe.

    Show/fun car: F40!

As you can tell my tastes are ecclectic, and there will always be one more car I "really" want. I would love a 500TRC...

    Simon,

Italian cars, for style, for sounds and also for eyes
which is the best choice? dilemma...

have one of famous garage, the dream garage when you put the light
and see 3 beauties, you are stopped by the style the color and also
by the badge in front car.
F40 it s one of the most important in Ferrari History, last one built by Enzo
and also the car who explosed the value on top.
Now, i think that you said the good configuration talking about 575/612 and
    one vintage car.
500 TR Spyder Scaglietti one of my preferate, do you know the
yellow/black two tone sn0682, ? sooo nice, the line very beautifull,
    near the perfection.

now if you want a another idea may be it could help to you:
    http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/2428/img17330pl.jpg

Today i realize the imposibility to me get one, well no matter, I decided to have some in 1/12.

Simon and Young.... I love your creativity - great shots!

I wanted to share an idea I had to improve my Kyosho F40. I sent the wheels out to be chrome plated, then I repainted the centers a bright silver when I got them back. Makes the polished lips really stand out... looking more realistic. Check it out:

So how would you guys rate the stock quality of the Kyosho wheels when they are un-modified?
I had a look at one of these a while back, and i did notice that the wheels did not have anough detail to them....

    BTW.
The R/C industry is reporting that Kyosho has bought heaps of CNC milling equipment, which will allow them to make more intricate and better quality parts.
Its mainly for their line up of planes, mini-z's and gas cars, but im sure that there will be some development in regards to their die cast lines..
Meaning new models and even better quality :)

    Hi mike,

the wheels are accurate except the finish is wrong on the rim. not shiny enough. While the center section has an accurate mat finish, the rim is only semi-gloss finish. not a real chrome. must say I didn't notice until greg posted his pics. his wheels are what kyosho should have done!

the detail on the bolts holding the rim together, the air stub (not sure what it's called), and the center hub, with cotter pin is excellent.

    Simon
