    Hi!
    I´m wondering what type of ferrari i should buy , seeing that iceland(i live there) doesn´t have an experienced mechanic for ferraris i would need a fairly easy to maintain car ... age doesn´t matter and restoration is always a thought . Any ideas ? please . i hope i don´t sound to silly with to high hopes :)

    308 or 328 is easy to find someone to maintain them or do it yourself.

    I agree 308/328 are great choices. If you want a 12cylinder, daytona coupe would be great fun, but maintenace would be significantly harder than on a 308/328.

    I would avoid anything where you will need specialized diagnostic equipment.
    so would avoid anything newer than a 328.

    246 dino also an option. And a very good option.

    Seems to me parts are not an issue however as you will be ordering everything overseas anyway.

    i would offcourse do the maintanence my self :) otherwise i wouldn´t learn anything about the car .

    but like indaville said, generally 308 is a nice starter

    I hear the Enzos are super easy to maintain yourself....brake jobs are nothing.

    On a serious note, the 308 series is going to be the simplest.

    Go with a 308 and use the resources on this forum. There is almost no question that can't be answered or has already been answered here!

    Yep, go with a 308.

    They are pretty easy to work on compared to a modern car.

    For all the reasons we've been naming 308/328 I would extend the same recommendation to the Mondial QV/3.2. They have back seats and a larger engine bay which makes engine work easier.

    Maintenance will actually be much easier with a Daytona than a 308/328, albeit more expensive. FYI, the classic front-engine V12s are much easier to work on than any of the mid-engine cars whether they be a v6, v8, v12 or flat12.

    I think the 308 2V are great cars to start with. Cheaper to buy, parts are more plentiful due to the large number of cars built, and simpler mechanically than the QV or 328. Maybe less reliable, but you will certainly get an education! If rust is a problem in your area, go with a 83 or newer car (308QV or 328) to avoid a car with no rust protection on the body panels.
