I think the single taillights are more 275GTB than 512BB. I'd hold off judgement because at this moment I hear what you are saying and feel the same way I felt the first time I saw a TR. I eventually came around.
I agree but I think the reason why the darker colors work is because some of the details seem awkward. Ie. the vents on the hood which are bit fiddly and the vents on the fenders which are slightly offset from the lines on the sides. The darker colors somewhat tones them down rather than making them pop out in ie: rosso corsa. I love the butresses. I love the 599.
Nice Pictures Marcel. I like the car. You have been to many Geneva shows. How does this car compare to the introductions of the past? Like the 360? Enzo? More or less enthusiasm?
I'd say less enthusiasm or different enthusiasm. The enthusiasm with the Enzo was absolutely crazy. Times have changed heavily within a few years. Tastes have changed, there are many new markets (Asia, China, Russia, etc.) with different tastes. One guy yesterday in Geneva said that the remaining 612 Scagliettis left over at the factory will now all be sold in China, another commented that the 612 Scagliettis may be recycled into 599 GTBs. What are the expected numbers of sale for the 599GTB, compared to those of the 575 and the 612 combined?
Again commenting on the 599 GTB Fiorano. I've seen this listed specifically as the 599 GTB Fiorano seval times. Does it have a specific package to it, or is it solely a special 599 in Rosso Fiorano? Anyone know? Any pics of a manual 6-speed?
No way! Speeds is up to over 330 km/h...! Is CV the same as bhp? If so it's ginna have 660 bhp... Insane! I hope this is going to be a very limited, high priced Ferrari!
Please don't insult it like that. It's far more beautiful than anything MB's ever produced, gull-wing, silver arrow and all. Quote me, please. Forza, Cavallini
This is far more traditional Ferrari than those models. The 275 and a few others had single taillights. Forza, Cavallini
I plan to buy one. I don't like sedans and I actually enjoy the shape of the 612. I think 612 sales will plummet though because most people will simply use a QP or MB S-class when they need rear seats. This could be very good news for the QP, however, especially when they roll-out the V12 model. Forza, Cavallini
I agree tastes have changed. My Superamerica is far better, more useable car than the ghastly Barchetta, but it brings little more than the dead common 430 spider. Weird. I do not understand your comment about "recycling" 612's into 599's. Different chassis, engine, dash, sheetmetal. Convert the production capacity perhaps, but doesn't make sense. Could you clarify? Thanks Lee
Stretch the 612 chassis to make a true sedan, even 4 doors. I would buy one quickly as a daily driver.
I intended to say that the planned 612s will now become 599s. And 612 production will slow down massively. Sorry for my poor English, not my mother language. Marcel Massini
NO. The official name is 599 GTB Fiorano and has NOTHING to do with any packages or colors. The factory brochure of the 599 GTB Fiorano also shows the name Fiorano on the cover. It was handed out yesterday during the press day of the Geneva motor show. Below is a scan of this new brochure, it contains 24 color pages, size is 18 x 29 cms, it also contains a CD-Rom. the rear window looks it... if not for the pseudo c-pillars the rear brake is reminiscant of it and the front "opening-thing" which i think is to let air out of the wheel well for better aero... why would they make an F-car wiht something that isnt functional? the C5's wasnt, the C6's is... the general shape of the hoodline is C6'ish... but thats expected of most good lookking FRC's. all in all, i do think it looks better then the vette; so dont take me wrong being the mclaren killer it seems to be... what is its' expected MSRP before costomers start selling them secondhand? (im guessing that will drive the price up quite a bit) i too wonder if the 612 will still sell after this is 100% available?
Well, i can't prove you wrong, but i dont think Pininfarina used the Vette as inspiration... I don't think you can compare... (4-seater vs. 2 seater...)
^^ its not about proving wrong/right... in fact, there really isn't a comparison worth talking about; expect when talking about performance. for full coverage hi-res photos of Geneva, www.jabbasworld.net and www.swisscarsightings.com (including the 599 gtb)
It's growing on me. Very nice pictures. *THIS* should have been the 612. The 612 is just so wrong. Just my .02 V.
