That'd actually be a great idea.. but I'm kinda sick like that. ;)

I've got one of the old Panasonic portables somewhere- I used to call it my "batphone". The damn thing was more reliable than anything I've had since..

Hrm, any company that has the razar or slvr offer an unlimited minuites rate?

Right now I pay $130/mo to nextel for truely unlimited talk time, local/ld dosen't matter, anywhere CONUS. (I use it too, average around 6000+ min a month.) I actually really like my i830's speakerphone, and the fact that it's small.

But I neeeed bluetooth for the bmw handsfree.

Oh **** best idea ever, let's do it. Seriously, make it a gsm/sim standard phone. first we must buy up all the hulks before word gets out and prices go up.

That's part of the reason I like the hands-free so much - people see me talking to myself and they don't come near me... :)

So what's all this Bluetooth about - my phone is Bluetooth enabled, but what's the difference between Bluetooth and just regular hands-free...?

    Haha!

I don't know what the hell the difference is. A couple guy friends were commenting on how much they liked my phone and saying it was bluetooth capable and I was like .."WTF is a blue tooth?" haha.. of course they all laughed at me. I couldn't tell ya what it is. :p

I kind of want to figure out the mp3 player feature, though. Hmmm

Hands free just means that you won't have a date on Saturday night.

Bluetooth enabled devices like phones, vibrators, socket wrenches and tire irons (why do they call them that? They are used on the lug nuts.) can communicate with each other.

In the case of your Bluetooth phone, it can communicate with other phones. Additionally, it can transfer data, such as contact info or e-mail, to other Bluetooth phones.

A vehicle equipped with a Bluetooth receiver can use your portable cellphone....just hop in, flip the phone on and it will link up with the vehicle's built in phone system. No wires, no setting things up, just toss and go.

So if I bought the Bluetooth wireless hands-free device that Sprint tried to sell me, how would I benefit...? My Sentra doesn't have any silly gadgets and gizmos that the phone could hook into, so is there any other benefit...? I don't email or "communicate" with my phone other than dialing numbers and talking...

That means you wouldn't have to hold up a 4oz unit...you'd get a 1oz unit to jam onto your ear. Or whatever.

No, not need. But it would come in handy....like for phone sex, or typing without having a stiff neck afterwards or pinching a loaf without the fear of turning your phone into an intrepid submarine. The list goes on.

Isn't that why I already have a hands-free device - or, because the Bluetooth is wireless, it would allow me to distance myself from the phone when I'm christening a baby ruth...?

yes. Bluetooth is good for about 30 feet away from the paired device. I have bluetooth on my computer and back up my entire phones contents with BT. Just a nice lil feature. As well, if I were to see you in Monterey this year, and I shot an image of a rather large lady getting out of a black on black NNO, I could send you the image via bluetooth if you allowed our phones to "talk" to each other.

A tire iron is a prybar used to separate a tire from a rim. Many tire irons had a hex socket built in to the handle so you could turn the iron around and use it as a lug wrench. After tubeless tires took over, motorists had few occasions to use the actual prybar end, so most of these combination "tire irons" were used as lug wrenches only.

The blunt-handled lug wrenches that come with modern cars no longer include a tire iron, but the name has stuck.

Is that what you call it when you're withdrawing Queen Latifah from the spank bank?

I wouldn't want to be on the phone with you either!

    Wires suck-

Blue tooth headsets allow for the above plus work well if you are alone in a hotel room having phone sex, unteathered leaves more options open, or so I have heard...

Voice dial is a nice feature as is the ability to answer while driving without fishing around for the phone.

Just don't wear your headset around to be important, it makes you look like a tool-

I already have voice dial and enjoy it - in fact, I had voicedial four years ago on an older Sprint phone...! With the wired hands-free device I have no, there's just one button to pick up, hang up or get what's-her-name to come on and ask me who I want to call...

That's why I'm trying to find out the plus side to this Bluetooth thing - they all look like Star Trek memorabilia...

Wireless tool < Wired tool imho

Must agree on the Trekkieness of it all-

Having a wire makes me think that you should spend some time talking into your sleeve...

But going wireless - with that odd mini-power-washer-shaped contraption trying to hump my ear makes me feel like I should be on call for the cast of Deep Space Nine...
