I've decided to abandon exoticar.com after being screwed by them twice and since scale18 is the only other site i found with the bbr enzo in 1:18 scale under 300 dollars i was wondering if this would be a good place to order from. Opinions comments reviews?

I bought from there before and never had a problem. Great service and fast shipping.

(you probably know you can get that BBR enzo at ebay for around 250 right?)

Not done business with them before. Would certainly recommend Replicarz.com or scalecars.com (though they are both temporarily out of stock on the Enzo). I also rate www.ewacars.com highly and they have the Enzo in stock for $299. Go for it ...

I have had several good experiences with them...a Canadian husband/wife business if I recall. Very helpful, decent prices.

I have only ordered once from them, and it was very recently. Chances are, I won't do business with them anymore, even though I got a great price on the 1:18 Mattel Dino 246 I ordered. See....the prices on their site are in USD. When you complete your order, you get a message that says that the amount will be converted to Canadian dollars, and then your credit card company will convert it back to USD on your billing statement. Plus, they're a Canadian business, but the return address on my box was WA state. My issues with that:

1 - WAY too involved. Why bother with all the converting? Just charge me!

2 - The conversion factor Scale18 used was different from the one my CC company used. Although the difference was less than a dollar, it's still something else to "deal" with.

3 - My credit card company then hit me with an $.83 "International Transaction Fee" - *MORE* fees and b.s.

4 - I'm not down with the Canadian business but American mailing address. If you want Canadian dollars, do business in Canada. If you want to do business in USD, fine, but don't convert me to CDN before you charge me - do it on your end.

When all was said and done, I just can't see going through that process every time when there are AMAZING U.S. businesses to support like Replicarz.com. Check my post in the thread about things on backorder - you'll read my experience with Replicarz, and will see why they're my "go-to guys" now.

I have had a good experience with Kevin at Scale18 twice - my big impression was excellent customer service, will work with you on odd requests. Since I had a 'relationship' with the guy on the other end of the phone who was an enthusiast, the shop owner, very knowledgeable and told me straight up how many CMC 250 GT SWBs he had ordered, how many were pre-sold and exactly when they would arrive, I opted to do business on the large (for me ) CMC purchase with someone who was talking to me who knew what was up. His delivery day was dead-on accurate.

I've also good experience with Replicarz. just not as personal.

Scale18 is a great place to buy from, and Kevin is extremely reliable. His website is always up to date. If the model you are looking for shows stock, you can be guaranteed it is in stock. He also provides both a Classified and Message forums from which you can find lots of loyal customers with great tips and information. Post a message on the Message forum and see what kind of feedback you get.

I'm not affiliated with Scale18 in any way other than being a customer for the last 3 years or so.

Kevin Pickel is a true enthusiast and collector who prides himself on customer service. If something goes wrong with your purchase, Im sure he will do whats needed to make you happy.

Like the previous poster, I have no vested interested other than having particpated in his forum for several years and being a satisfied customer myself.

You can't go wrong with Scale18.com! Their prices are fair, might not be as cheap as some ebay vendors; but they are 100% reliable. Kevin and Irene are true enthusiasts, they know their stuff!
