I've been to Indy F1 every year. Go to the aluminum pedestrian bridge at the end of the infield straight during practice. The attendant will try to keep you moving but after a while he just let us stay. You can see the cars coming through the green mesh and then total F1 shut down right under your feet. Amazing.

The Potenza Bridge, right? I concur that was simply awesome. We did the same thing in 2004 with the F1 cars and then the Porsche Cup cars. Truly incredible!

Last year we ventured about a mile out of downtown, into a local neighborhood that to the Northeast, I think. There was a pretty good pizza place, a brew pub and a big bar called the Rathskeller. We tend to skip the big dinner on race weekends since that's something we can do any time around at home. But this neighborhood was cool since it was more of a local area and not full of knuckleheads in town for the race. Like us.
