    Why?

39k for a nice QV is not unreasonable.

I love that front. I wonder how difficult it would be to mod a 308 into the 328 front. So unique!

Honestly, because it's a bastard child of a Ferrari. Nice, original '80-'82 GTSi and GTBi models aren't worth that much on their best day. Why would one with a 328 front clip grafted on be worth even close that? The car probably has a history and the front end is the obvious evidence. That alone would hurt its value considerably. Would it make someone happy as a fun driver Ferrari? Sure, as long as it's sorted otherwise. That being said, it'll never be worth what an original car is worth.

If the car is not a QV then I agree with you (the interior suggests it is though). The front doesn't increase the price. Neither for a 2valve nor for a QV.

I just like bastard childs. :) There are plenty of regular 308/328 out there to have one uncommon in their middle. Having said this I do prefer the 308 front in general, but I do like the painted and small front bumper of the 328.

Your the second person to ask me that question in 2 days

I heard it from my uncle who lives in Italy (Calabria) who is on his 4th Ferrari. Now verifying the origine would be hard since "The Man" has passed ! All I know from my uncle is it's because of the racing heritage where engine specs were the only important thing not the car...back in the late 40's, 50's and 60's

Personally, I don’t care what people think, and a $100 isn’t worth my time trying to find out, especially when anyone can say its still a myth, now if it was a 100K, I would be on the next flight to my uncles house in Italy Hahahaha!!!!!!!!

I'm the one offering 100 bucks and so far haven't had any takers. Had some leads for the saying but no proof it isn't just another urban myth.

Just another thing that went nowhere and I don't care anymore.

    Now THAT'S correct!

I think we've agreed it's probably an '81 308 with a 328 front clip and mirrors and U.S. side markers added (and in a non-standard place in front).

If presumably the engine is a normal '81 in decent shape, the car may be worth less because it's a bastard, but it is still genuine Ferrari, and that alone will make it valuable to somebody.

Look again. The steering wheel is the all-black Nardi type found in the '80-'82 GTSi and GTBi model 308s as well as the Mondial 8. The QV has the Momo Monte Carlo wheel like the 328.

You are right about the steering wheel, no doubt.

However I always thought that two instruments on the center console is a QV thing. I thought the 2v cars only had one there, but I could be wrong.
