Noah & Art, This is directed at you two because browsing this thread I came across your posts that seem to support this behavior. I have a real problem dealing with someone that would write this : "This item is not available through your Ferrari dealer unless you are a owner of a Ferrari Enzo." If he knew it not to be true then it's a lie and Noah, you shouldn't think that is ok.......... and Art, you should def. know better. In fact Art, wouldn't you think purchasers have legal recourse for a refund? I've got no problem with him selling at any price he can get. He just shouldn't have to misrepresent to do it. Yes, I have seen other salespeople do it. I don't hold them in high regard. Now, AW, you are assuming he knows these are available at the dealer and he may or may not. Nice looking key........... Will it fit a 355?
Yes I did; I didn't have a Trabant, but three of my colleagues (2-Austrians, one Finn) each purchased one and they gave me a lead for one that was almost new (it sold for EURO 2.5K).
Someone in that position of Selling products, takes the responsibility of the words they use to sell a product. Blatant lies should not be tolerated. If he did not include that sentence about only being able to get them if you have an Enzo, he could sell them at any price, and that is ok. Those are sick keys though!!!! E
I wasn't condoning his misrepresentations, I was however commenting on someone who'd buy a key that they didn't have a functional use for, i.e., no car to fit it in. Barnum had it right: one born every minute I beleive is the quote. (No offense NNO) Art
Who cares? When it comes down to it, there's really only one key that matters. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I would not say it is an Ebay scam. I would call it what it is. Misleading or untrue advertising. But if you buy it, you will get the key? If so, then it does not qualify as a 'scam'. Not a great deal, but not a scam. BT
OK, enough on this, now for a serious question. Now that we all know where to get a better deal on the "key", will it a fit a 348? Someone out there has to know? Please...
If you're talking about the alarm portion, that probably came with the original key not the one pictured.
FWIW and in Jimmy's defense I think that originally the only way to get another key for an Enzo was if you were an owner. That's no lie.
Connections. Maybe something changed but in the past these keys were not so easy to get. Maybe FOLV wasn't making enough money charging everyone $10 to come in so they started selling keys? As far as the thread related topic, I think it's false advertising at the most. I don't agree with it, but I wouldn't go as far as to call it a scam. Not something I'd do or would be in support of somebody doing though.
I said "originally" it was true. Obviously almost anyone can get their hands on one now. I'd be curious is this is exactly the same as an Enzo key? If it is than it seems silly that F would offer them willy nilly like that. I'd doubt they are exactly the same thing. Can anyone verify?
It is the same key 0478501150010 - Enzo Ferrari Key I just spoke with FNA and they said there WAS NEVER a time whebn the only way to get this key was to own an Enzo as clearly on the documentation that coems with the key that Jimmy posted it is the same key they give you for the CS and 360 Also, the stock key that came with the 360;'s is priced the same -a
You can get your 360 key painted any color thru Cavallino Models. To match the exterior color or anything you want. Comes out great. Cost me $25.
OK, but I remember that at one time it was next to impossible to get one. I'm going off of posts that I recall from a couple of years back. People were having them painted to look like an Enzo key. They're of no interest to me so details may be more specific. Only recently has it been easier(last year or so) to purchase this style of key AFAIK Regardless, the info on that current eBay listing is false as it applies to today's accessibility.
There are too many people out there trying to make a quick buck with unsuspecting buyers Superficially they may have done nothing wrong but this is still a scam picking on the un suspecting ferrari enthusiast There may be now ferraristi out there thinking they are buying something that means something But instead.....................................?????????????????????????????????
They sell those keys at the Ferraristore.com as keyrings. My wife bought the Enzo one for around $160 or so. Jimmy can do as he likes I guess - not sure I am his target market though. Cheers Kevin
