I know this has been discussed, but I was wondering if anyone has photos on the removal of the 328 LED temp. control units. Or what they look like once removed.
The passenger side unit on mine workes intermittently. The red (temp) lights work, but not the yellow (vent) lights. I can hear the vent opening & closing I just want the lights to work also. I want to remove the unit & "clean" the contacts, hoping that will cure the problem. Just not sure how it's retained other than with "spring clips" on the front & back.

The problem with the lights is that the cold solders on the board fail...one needs to open it up and fix them...need a tiny soldering iron and good eyes to fix. I had mine done by a generous friend you made it work perfectly....thanks Charles Perry! ;)

The switches are just held in place by tension and so they can be pried out carefully. There is a procedure in the workshop manual for calibrating the switches, which cured mine. I don't have a scan of it handy however.

    Thanks Dave & Charlie..
Dave, I was planning on doing exactly what you had done, maybe a good radio shop could do the soldering....I just want to make sure I don't bung things up in the removal process, & break any clips/ears holding that guy in there...thats why I wanted to perhaps view one that was removed.

Charlie was your calibration issue related to the LED lights working/not working? Or was the calibration related to the open/closing of the vent?

My issue is the LED lights not working.

Hope this helps. There are really only 2 clips, one at each end. If you are careful enough with a putty knife, you can gently pry one end up and remove the unit that way. It may take a little patience and some muscle. Or you can always remove the knobs, and push up from underneath.

    Good luck.

My problem was that the lights on one of the switches would work intermittently - but the vents would move. Once I calibrated the switch with the little screws underneath, the lights would work reliably. I have tried to attach the procedure from Service Bulletin 80-36. Hope it works for you.

Thanks for the service procedures. When I had ordered my brand new switch from Ferrari UK, the RED LEDs are always on. Moving the rocker panels will open & close the corresponding vents, but the LED always remain fully lit - which bugged me. Maybe this calibration procedure will cure this. Hah - another project for this weekend. Cool!!!

Mike - one last thing. The right and left units are not the same (different wiring plug). Personally had good fortune with adjusting screw. Let me know if you need instructions.
