Most people are reading this thread don't realize he quoted you $900 FOR THREE KEYS..........NOT $900 FOR ONE KEY Obviously $300 each........ If you don't live close to a ferrari dealership (and even if you drive there will EVERY f-car dealership sell you one) and they are charging $220 for each key its not THAT much of a markup. So what he makes $80 for getting the keys and making it easy for you to recieve it. On the other hand I do not agree with him saying you can't get the keys anywhere else. The ad itself is shady, but the price he is asking isn't at all.
he is not forcing anyone to buy the keys for his price, so I do not see too much wrong with that. You have the option to buy one at Wynn for less. (I am sucking up because Jimmy always had the hottest girlfriends on his profile pic... especially the blonde sitting in his 360 with the hat on...omg...) gordon
"All neatly packed in a Ferrrari Gift Box in Ferarri Wrapping paper!" Ferrari, Ferrrari or Ferarri, those are quite nice looking
I agree, I've seen people who have a key like this and get it cut for a Ford or similar, looks good on the bar, but they get laughed at when they leave and get in ther Fordari
Hardly a scam. It's the responsibility of the buyer to do their research before purchasing an item. You could've quite easily punched it up on a search engine and looked around before bidding. You could have posted asking about it here as well. People will always write things in Ebay ads like "RARE, LAST ONE REMAINING" etc. It's a sell tactic to generate a blind impulse buy. There's nothing wrong with selling an item to somebody at an inflated price. You can dwell on it for the rest of your life, or walk away from the experience having learnt a valuable lesson. Your perception as to what you learned is up to you: Jimmy540i is a scamming thief, or "I should've look into this further before bidding" Judging by the posts of people here, most people see it as the latter.
Some years back, when Jimmy and I were on Roadfly(bmw) board a lot, there was a recurring outrage about his misrepresentation of his "Xenon" bulbs. It all amounted to a lot of wasted bandwidth and I suspect the same result here. Personally, I agree with the condemnation of misleading hype he uses in selling his wares. But hey, its certainly worked for a lot of people in the past and it bought him a ferrari, so i doubt he is going to change his ways.
Hilarious that anybody would pay $200 for a key to NOTHING! Ferrari really does have a spell on you guys
He's obviously referring to the people that don't own any of the cars these keys go to. I see nothing wrong with collecting these keys if it floats your boat but thought I'd clear it up for you.
Holy smokes, so we see capitalism first hand for the first time. Stretching the truth on ebay is not unusual. And selling items for as much as you can is well, why this country works. If this is some kind of a complaint I think it is absurd. I have sold Marparts booklets on e-bay for two times what I paid for them. Am I a scammer too.
Depends whether or not you told people they couldnt buy them from Ferrari direct if they didnt own the car. Not the bigest scam in the world, but pathetic behaviour by Jimmy none the less
Also funny that people buy a Ferrari with keys and never actually stick the key in the car. But, the spell is potent.
Oh ya. Truth in advertising on e-bay. Is there anybody out there that doesn't get it? You have to do your own checking before buying. Thats just the way its done.
Anything that comes from Maranello that's Rosso Corsa with either a Cavallino or the "Ferrari" emblem on it will sell. Somebody, somewhere, "needs one" for their collection. Be it keys, models, sh*tty clothing that doesn't fit well, shoes, helmets, jewelry, signs, posters, you name it - SOMEbody will buy it. I personally like the look of the Enzo key. I'd feel like a bit of a tool with one stuck in the ignition of my GT4, though... Don't get me wrong, I'm no "showroom condition only" kind of owner, but I do believe there is some merit to keeping things at least "period correct." Aaron
Excellent Assessment ! It will not fit a 355. I actually would consider Buying 1, if it did. Obviously not through our "Fellow" F-Chatter.Wynns Prices on Ferrari Items are RIDICULOUS. As someone pointed out, there's a Sucker ......
