5 years ago I went to Malaysia with my brother and our change-over was in Taipei, China. Our flight was leaving in 3 hours, so we decided to walk around the airport when we were approached by a couple that were on the same flight as us (Montreal to Taipei) so we hung out with them for 2 hours, they were waiting for their flight to go back home to Austrailia. Before leaving we exchanged email addresses but never kept in touch...last month I was eating (in Montreal) and was approached by the girl who we hung out with!! She reconized me right away . I was shocked that after 5 years she remembered me and everything we did that day, even though we were only together for afew hours. They were just visiting montreal again for the second time.

We stopped, got the hubcap out of the trailer, looked at the ding it made in the corvette, then the owner said "don't worry about it, I love that car" and we got out of there.

A friend of mine lived on the Strand in Manhattan Beach and one of the things he did was make custom jewelry. He had a beautiful girlfriend that lived in Texas that would come out to visit him.
He got a call one day from a movie producer he had met, the guy asked him to make a custom piece of jewelry for this beautiful girl he had just started dating. My friend made the piece and the guy told him "It's perfect, I'll give it to her next week".
The next week my friends girlfiend came out from Texas to visit, the first thing they did was take off their clothes and jump in bed.......where he noticed her new necklace.

I used to work at a company that was real seasonal, so we had summers off. I decided to take a vacation once, and some folks I knew had friends in Mallorca (island off the coast of Spain) they were going to meet up with. So I decided I'd go for a week.

I went into the hotel and I saw a guy replaceing fluorescent light bulbs in the lobby. He looked familiar... when I got a good look he was the guy I always used to see at my job replacing fluorescent light bulbs in the lobby LOL!

he said they let him stay there free during summers if he worked maintenance. What are the chances of that - of the millions of hotels and resorts all over the world seeing the same dude doing the same job?

There's a 12~ year difference, but Darth and I have held the same job, working for the same family business. We both chuckled when we realized that nothing had changed in that time..

Cant beat teak360's story, but here's mine:

A few years back my family went to London for a few weeks (come from New Zealand). While in london while walking past that castle by tower bridge one of the man (beefeaters?) that works there saw us taking a photo and offered to take it for us, so our family could be in the photo.

He got talking to my mum and asked what country we were from(we replied NZ of course), then he said that he is a kiwi too. He then asked what city we were from(and we said that we were from a small city called ......), and he happened to be from our city too. And then he asked what high school my mum went too, and he even went to the same school!

Turns out some random guy who offered to take our photo in England lived in our town and went to school with my mum :p

Edit: He took us into the castle for free after that :D

I went to school with a girl in a small town in Maine. About 7 years after we had each gone our separate ways and had never communicated, I'm sitting in a bar in Ulsan, South Korea when she walks through the door. We both kind of looked at each other like, "What are you doing here?"

    Huh, small world.

Two guys are sitting in a bar chatting and drinking. One of them says, "You sound Irish to me." The other says, "I was born in Ireland." The first says, "Me too, what a coincidence. What city?" "Dublin." "Dublin! Me too! Here, let me buy you another whiskey."

"So which school did you go to?" "St. Andrew's." "St. Andrew's! That's where I went to school! Let me buy you another whiskey."

"What neighborhood did you grow up in?" "I grew up in a house on Market St." "Well I'll be, That really is something! My parents have a house on Market St. Let's get us another drink and share some stories."

A guy at the other end of the bar says to the bartender, "Wow, small world. That's quite a coincedence, 2 guys from the same street in Ireland ending up in the same bar here." The bartender says, "Them? That's the Kelly twins, it looks like they're drunk again."

That was a classic from Steve. Which reminds me, we need to get a picture of Tommy up - he looks like a young Rob Lay! Seriously could be a brother or something.

Rob, your Dad never went to England on business, did he? :p

Grade 5: I went and visited my aunt and uncle for two weeks in a small town in northern British Columbia. My aunt taught Grade 5 at the time, so I just took my school work up there and joined her class for the time being. I made friends, had fun...it was a good trip.

Fast forward 8 years (now freshman year of university): Christmas, I'm back up in the small town visiting the same aunt and uncle for Christmas break. I'm in a small book/music store. A cute blonde walks in and starts browsing the music. I ask her what she was looking for, recognize the band name, and start chatting with her. She asks if I'm from around there. "No, I'm just visiting from Texas. My aunt and uncle live here. Are you from around here?" She replies that she's not any more. She used to be, but is now in California going to school. She's back up visiting parents. We talk more and eventually discover that she and I were in the same 5th grade class together for 2 fateful weeks, so many years back.

I still keep in contact with her. The story still amazes me.

Was in Ireland, in the Guinness Hop Store (museum/gift shop) and was taking everything in, when two girls came up and asked if I knew how to get to some famous place (too many beers that trip to remember). I replied that I had just gotten into Dublin and had no idea how to get around. She replied, "oh, well, we thought you were a local." Turns out, she was from the SF bay area, like me, and we both had a mutual friend who went to my school, and talked about her friend who went to a private girls school. Mutual friend had talked about both of us for various reasons over the year and yet it takes us going to Ireland to meet.

Fast forward 3 years, in Switzerland, getting gas in Zurich. Hear some English speakers at the pump across from us, and they were American accents. Start up a conversation and they end up living a few streets away from where I lived for 15 plus years. We knew each others house by description and after talking for a while, she knew who I was from my old car I used to drive.

Trip to Thailand, and new story in 4 days. :)

You're not nice at all. :D But, in your cruelty, you did get me to laugh out loud. So, you're forgiven.

My condolences on you being kicked out. Did you have the priviledge of walking through the door, or did you get tossed out the window like me?
