    Hello ferarri lovers.

On my 550 the two inner exhaust pipes have valves which suppose to open and close in certain conditions. I tried to observe the opening of those valves by raising the RPM to 6000 and watch them, but they don't open, any body knowes there function, when they operates.

    Thanks

If you have somebody blip the throttle sharply to about 5500rpm from idle, while you observe up the pipes (put glasses on!!), you'll see them open and close(assuming they're working ok).

There is no reason to have them open permanently like some people do... other than to simply make a bit more noise.

In fact, it can be argued that opening them permanently reduces performance a little, as low down back pressure is reduced.

You can also observe the variable intake system operating on the plenum cmaber rear end using the same method... or they can be operated through the SD1.

The valves will open under a load (while your driving). They will not open when reving it at a stand still.
