How much vermouth do I want to use? I've heard 1 to 2 parts, to just a splash.
a lot of people like to pour some in the glass swirl it around to coat the glass, then dump it out then put in the chilled vodka. some others just like a splash, it depends on how dry you want it
FWIW - Vodka Martini made headway due to Smirnoff's sponsorship, product placement and specifity of mentioning "vodka martini" in 007's Dr. No http://home.earthlink.net/~atomic_rom/007/films.htm
with a name like goose you'd think you'd know how to make a vodka martini! with that said... i say skip the vermouth and chug the vodka
I remove the cap from the Vermouth and then wave the bottle around the glass, then put cap back on bottle of Vermouth, then poor the Vodka. I like my martini very dry....arid.
Try em out...pick the one you like and make that YOUR drink! Do you think James Bond went on a message board to pick his drink....come on.
Why mess up perfectly good Vodka? The only reason to keep Vermouth around is 'cause the bottles have cool labels. BTW, both Vodka and Gin should be kept in the freezer when not in use.
Mmmmmm martinis..... You should try these: Key lime martini = Vanilla Vodka + Lime juice Caramel Appletini = Vodka + Sour Apple Pucker + a tiny bit of butterscotch schnapps.......BEST DRINK EVER!
To make the perfect Dry Martini. First start with Gin, good Gin. (Debating the merits of gin to be done in a different thread) You must use a fine French dry vermouth. Pour a generous double shot of gin into a shaker with ice. Take the SEALED Bottle of vermouth, salute in the direction of France and then gently wave the bottle over the shaker. Put the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for a few moments. Pour into a martini glass and garnish with an olive. Now enjoy the perfect drink, a Sahara!
No, I just bartend everytime I have a party.. I love the sound of a martini shaker!!!!! I do like Blue Martini, though. My favorite drink there is the Blue Moon Martini.. TRY IT!
The type of guy that would order a foo foo Carmel Appletini would order a Cosmopolitan as well, good way to waste a good vodka. I like my vodka served straight and chilled with a hair for added flavor.
We are men--Think crispy chest hairs, farts, whiskers, and thoughtless insensitivity; We do not drink vanilla flavored liquor.
