http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11822960/ Miss Deaf Texas was walking by some railroad tracks and did not hear the train sound its horn and was struck and killed. WTF x 10!
Yes you are going to hell Thats sad, you would have thought she could feel the vibration of the train coming.
Well, looks like it's going to be quite the party in hell...Here she is, by the way. Image Unavailable, Please Login
If you can't hear wouldn't you be more reliant on your vision? Why didn't she LOOK both ways before crossing as she would a street?
She must have been walking down the tracks or along side them and the train came from behind hitting her.
I dont get why someoen who is totally deaf would walk down a set of train tracks? I used to work near the train tracks and during the 3 years I was there, about 5 people were killed. TRAIN TRACKS ARE DANGEROUS. So this girl - who has been deaf all her life - is WALKING by the tracks close enough to get hit? WTF? The humor in it is that its one of the most stereotypical ways to die - a deaf person not hearing a speeding train coming.
Just on the news here 2 days ago,my mate told me 3 little aboriginal boys, aged 8,9 and 11 were walking on a train tracks,in suburb of Brisbane,QLD and were killed when they train hit them. Not sure exactly what happened sorry. They are very very dangerous alright.
It amazes me how many people are killed by trains. Every now and then these stories come up. A while back I read one of a guy walking down train tracks with his earphones in and he got hit. Now when I drive next to the train tracks the train shakes my 4000 pound car before it gets close so it makes me think these people want to get hit because they have to feel it coming even if they can't hear it. But the stories that make me laugh are the idiots that get hit by the trains while driving around the safety barriers so that they can cross the tracks while the train is speeding toward them.
Near my old office - the tracks cross the street at a sharp angle, so the crossing gates are very far apart to accomodate the diagonal tracks. Set of lights 50 yards after the tracks - traffic backed up at the lights, gate comes down, 2 old ladies straddling the tracks don't know whats going on and just sit there despite people yelling for them to move. Train comes - result: 2 kibbled old women. When I worked there, the gates came down way early - it was tempting to just go around 'em but trains came from 2 directions. One you could see, one you coudln't. If you guessed wrong and timed wrong you'd die. Freight train weighing countless tons cant stop from 40mph fast enought to avoid you. They say odds are most train operators will eventually be driving when the train strikes a person or car and its very traumatic - sucks to be that guy.
train carnage, boy do i have lots of stories. grew up next to southern pacific tracks, not more than 50ft from the backyard fence. most times you would hear the train approaching if they were on the whistle or the bells decided to work, however what most people do not know is that a slow moving train is nearly silent, really creepy if you ask me. also both my uncles and my grandfather work the yards for yrs. horrible gross accidents happened to those not paying attention. my freinds and i used to go treasure hunting through the wreckage of left over automobiles. side note it took me yrs to sleep through the night after i moved away, becouse the train whistle was no longer in the background.
I am leaning toward suicide, even if she couldn't hear the train it sure would vibrate the ground and she should feel the vibration from the train horn also. And yes all of you who found it funny are going to hell. I guess I'll see you there but for other reasons
Seriously, it is sad to see a life wasted like that. However, I do think we have a new Darwin Award Entrant. Of course, I'm sure someone will get sued in our society of always blaming others and never taking personal responsibility. The train conductor should have stopped the train (regardless of whether that was physically possible)... The train company should have policed the tracks to be sure no one was walking on them... The town should have forced the track owners to fence people out so a deaf person couldn't go for a stroll... and on and on.
Obligatory joke for the hellbound: An ugly man walks into his local pub with a big grin on his face. "What are you so happy about?" asks the barman. "Well, I'll tell you," replies the ugly man. You know, I live alone by the railway. Well, on my way home last night, I noticed a young woman tied to the tracks, like in the films." "I, of course, went and cut her free and took her back to my place." "Anyway, to cut a long story short, I scored big time!" "We made love all night, in the bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, all over the house." "We did everything, me on top, sometimes her on top, like doggies, every position imaginable!" "Fantastic, you lucky bugger!" exclaimed the barman. "Was she pretty?" "Dunno ... never found the head!"
There was a report on TXCN cable news about her, apparently she was distracted by mobile texting her friends when the accident happened.
