I often drive my car with the ASR off and believe me that when i do this ( not in slippery roads or rain etc.) i feel like the car has 30 hp more than when the ASR is on...

    I was just thinking......

you guys that have had problems with clutchslipping during a "burnout attempt" are you sure you haven't had the 'slippery' button depressed. Many tends to believe that if it is depressed and the light with 2 stripes and a car is lit, that the traction control is off. But if this 'slippery' button is depressed I am told that the car will start in 2nd gear which would most likely on dry asphalt result in the clutch slipping. I dont know the real name of the 'slippery' button, but its the one that is behind the R selector in the center concole.

From my experiences having ASR off you don't even have to push the pedal to the metal to lite up the tires, just press the gas quick.

    ...anyways, just a thought.

EDIT: found a pic of the 'slippery' button. The rear one of the two round ones next to R selector
