Took the 355 to Zagame's for a yearly service. They did all the "by the book" stuff plus fixed a squeak that was annoying me. They washed it too. Drove it home...nothing fell off!

    Price? Only $936.00

Every 3 years the cam belts need changing. That means engine .....OUT.
Who are you going to get to do that? Mine is due NOW. I wasn't happy last time Dixon's did it because the bloody thing leaked oil after they had a go at it and it never leaked a drop BEFORE they got to it.

The leak was coming from the stearing pump pipe that goes from the motor to the front of the car. Some dip **** mechanic let the motor come out the car with the pump pipe still half connected to the car, thus bending and stripping the threads on the pipe. Next time the engine comes out, I want the pipes replaced (with genuine Ferrari parts of course), and the thread's fixed. This car was bought by me BRAND NEW, and never had an oil leak until Dixon's got hold of it. They stopped the leak by using silicon sealastic gunk. So they have never fixed it properly. I think I'll let GV do the next belts which are due now. AND Mr. Ferrari Italy, why did you design the 355, so that the engine has to come out every time you need the belts replaced. You don't have that problem with an F 40, just take out the back panel and the belts can be replaced in an hour.

mine's due every 4 years. i wonder why they changed it on the later 355s? why wouldn't you just get GV to do it?

anyway....dixons won't be doing it, will they? they're not the ferrari service agent anymore.

You think that they would have ordered a new powersteering pump pipe that they bent and fit it for you asap to stop the leak and do the job properly??? Unless its a hard to get at spot and they had to remove the engne again to get to it,then you can understand them patching it with silicone sh*t. But still...................very very average and i can see why you were not happy. :)

Isn't it that old problem with these official car mechanics, where they need to move the cars through the service bay quickly and don't want to hold cars up waiting for bits. I don't really care if the car is off the road for 6 months, I would rather have it fixed properly, rather than have an oil leak fixed by glueing up a pipe. And yes, I think GV will do the next cam belt service AND replace the pipe that Dixon's fu*ked. Do you know how annoying it is to have a brand new car, that doesn't have one thing wrong with it, not even ANY oil leak, to come back home, to find, the next morning, oil all over your garage floor.
