I had Horse in Venezuela. It was really good. Extremely tender. After Smarty Jones lost the race, I would think that someone would buy him and make Smarty Burgers.

Possibly the worst substance I've ever consumed was natto, Japanese fermented soybean paste. It's a breakfast meal, eaten with wasabi. Flavor of rancid beans with the texture of refried beans mixed with snot. Add wasabi for that acidic feeling of drinking Draino.

In Japan also, sea cucumber. The slug things with spiky backs. Actually ok shrimpy flavor, unusual gummy texture.

Also very horrible were silkworms - little plump, football shaped potato-bug looking things. Taste like rotten grapes. A friend tricked a group of us by putting them in brownies, he had gotten them from someone who got them in Korea. They come in a can!

Vegemite/miamite. Maoris (NZ) also eat 'kina' (sp.?), raw sea urchin. They crack it open and slurp the guts out.

One of the only things I've never been able to finish eating was 'tripas,' Mexican tripe soup. The texture of the stomach pieces makes me think of burn victims.

Sort of, it is 7up soda mixed with roughly equal part milk.

Poor about a half a glass of milk, and then add the difference of 7up.
Do not mix or stir it, as it will curd.

    Really good, makes milk 'tangy.'

Yes! What he said! 4 1/2 years ago, a dear Kiwi sent me Marmite and Vegemite, along with an assortment of proper chocolates.
