I'm having some issues with the folders on my computer... As some of you know, I have quite a few Ferrari pictures and I keep them all categorized in two folders... One for Enzos, one for all other Ferraris... My Ferraris folder and sub folders are the root of the problem... In the Ferraris folder, there are a bunch of sub folders by each model... In each model folder, there are sub folders for different types of that model... For instance, in my 308 folder, the sub folders are as follows: 308 GTB, 308 GTS, 308 GTBi, 308 GTSi, 308 GTB QV, 308 GTS QV, Bertone, Convertibles, Koenig conversions, 288 conversions and so on... In most of those folders are sub folders by year - 1976, '77, '78, etc. - in those folders are sub folders by serial numbers...

Okay, so now you have a general understanding of what I've got going on... The main folder, "Ferraris", views everything as tiles, so I can see ten folder per horizontal row... Each sub folder (models) should be viewed as thumbnails and all the sub folders in there and sub-sub folders and sub-sub-sub folders and so forth should all be viewed as thumbnails until you get to a specific serial number... The pictures in that folder should be viewed by slideshow... No matter how times I go into various folders and tell it view as tiles or thumbnails or a slideshow, they inevitably get screwed up somehow and I have no idea why... Some folders do exactly what I want them to all the time and others never cooperate and it's frustrating not knowing why... Is there way I can set these things permanently so they never change...?

Also, I'm having a mysterious problem with two folders where every sub folder is a thumbnail, but the names of every sub folder in said folders have disappeared...! When I go into one of the specific sub folders, I can read the name of that folder in the address heading, but when I'm looking at the folder of thumbnailed sub folders, all the names are gone (but just in those two folders, not in the whole damn Ferrari folder)... Any advice on how to fix that and figure out what I did so I don't do it again...?

But I want all the folders in my Ferraris folder to be tiles; I want all of the sub folders to be thumbnails and I want all of the pictures in the serial number folders to be slideshows... Am I the hugest nerd or what...?

unless someone else knows how or theres an app out there, you'd have to do each individually.... If you set them and them they revert back....dunno'

But if you go into one of the sub folders of the F430 folder, you can read the name of the folder in the address line at the top and you can see the names of the three folders within this sub folder...

Wow, I've never see this problem before - it appears that Window Explorer is corrupt/confused (probably from all of that nasty porn on your machine).

Try this ... relocate the folders that do not have a folder name displayed to another location. Then, if the names are shown, try to move the folders back. Explorer does get buggie.

Also, if you want to open a folder and see thumbnails of images, instead of file names, select "do not cache thumbnails" located in the advanced settings section of Folder Options - seventh box down.

Have you simply tried to rename the folders?

NNO I'm having the same problem with "view as thumbnails" and even keeping the right thumbnail ... sometimes it switches to tiles or icons or whatever and whenever I add more pictures to the directory the thumbnail gets randomly picked again so I have to set it again, and now every single folder I have such as Windows/system32 and all the folders that have NOTHING to do with cars all have the same thumbnail of a Carrera GT for some reason. Every new folder I create automatically gets this thumbnail so it looks like every folder I have is car pictures. SO I know how you feel and I'm guessing it's just because Windows sucks balls and there's nothing we can do about it.

Thank you very much... I've done it twice already, I just hope I don't inadvertently do it again - some of these folders have a lot of stuff in them to be moving them around because of petty mistakes...
