Thanks for all the kudo's! I try to post a few more pics when I pic it up. I'm just the caretaker of it until the next owner come along.
I purchased my 1992 348 GTB Series Specialle (8) weeks ago and still remember the night it arrived. Congrats, drive it, and don't let it sit. THEY WERE MADE TO DRIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We need more pictures. Darryl Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Immaculate doesn't begin to describe it, when I inspected the car in person I was amazed. I don't think they have a word for the condition of his car.
Congrats, Pete. May I suggest some Speedlines? http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=74715&highlight=348+speedline BBS LM's look great too - the thin, straight, multispoke wheels fit well with the strakes.
great looking car! how did you get the car on the grass at the cove? how many "save the seals" protesters did you run over?
LOL! That was a pic from the prior owner. Anyway, I picked up the car this afternoon. I really looked hard for cosmetic issues and stupid things not working. Could not find anything to bltch about! This is one clean-ass car. Very impressed. It drives extremely well and is like a real car (Unlike my rattly 308 that I traded!). Regarding the 308, I do miss the slanted lines of the fenders that are out in front of you while behind the wheel and the sound of the carbs. I'm in San Diego and I look forward to my 450 mile drive home tomorrow! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Peter, Was that car originally for sale in Encinitas? It's very nice. You'll enjoy the ride home. I'd come up 101. Fewer trucks;fewer rocks;fewer possible paint chips! We drove our new 530i home from LaJolla last weekend up 101. Much easier drive.
Nice choice and congratulations. I keep looking at other cars but I do so enjoy my 348 spider!!! Cheers Kevin Gratuitous photo, sorry... Image Unavailable, Please Login
or about 100hp! nice car...too bad you had to want a gts or spider! But I guess melodie likes her hair floating in the wind...who doesnt'? seriously, looks very very sharp...congrats!
Just got home from San Diego. Did about 500 miles today that included pizza at Darth's. The car ran like a top. It was comfortable about 80 the entire way home. What a world of difference from the 308 that I tried to get one of you pigeons...Uhhhhh..I mean Persons to buy! I think I'll be happy with this car for a year or two.
So Peter: Tell me the reasons you exchanged your 308 for the 348. A physician friend of mine could have had any F but just bought a 308 (he loves the styling most I think). I too chose the same body style over the 348 when I bought my 328 (but I'm a wacky artist & opinionated on specific looks). Why did you go for the 48? Don't get me wrong - I love your new car!
348 Spider is one of the cars on my list. I just cannot justify the vintage V12 or the modern Maserati to make room for it in the garage. If I could only swing that lift in the garage sometime soon....
Luke, I'd be happy to make room in my garage for you to keep your GTE. And I even have fun roads around to drive it on... -steve
