ANY MILITARY SURPLUS FCHAT MEMBERS ?

i have a FFL and recently accuired a 1919a4 Browning belt fed .30 cal machine gun. gun has been converted to semi auto fire, and i have the hand crank on order (for legal full auto). i am looking for parts for the gun to convert it to 8MM Mauser as the belted 8mm ammo is cheap. with a hand crank i can fire 200 rounds in 22 seconds. i need to do the conversion as belted .308 is expensive! i am also looking for a M2 tripod with the Pintle and T&E.
i have 2 8mm barrels coming, but i need the 30-06 or 8mm barrel boosters, and the 8mm cartridge stops.

any help, or belt fed comments / pics would be welcome. i have tried the usual Shotgun News / internet sources, and was wondering if any FChat member has any connections for parts!

Wow, I go real exictied when u said Military surplus as I thought you were refering to Supply people as I am a Supply Officer in the Marine Corp.

I would like to pick up one of those. I've been looking into them a little bit, but it seems like the quality out there can be a little questionable, and the tripod mounts have gotten pretty rare. I've got a buddy with one, and it looks like fun. Wish I could help you.

for me its a safety issue, as i cannot fire the firearm with the crank without it bieng safely supported on a tripod. there is just to much recoil and the shockwaves are kind of harsh. i found and ordered 2 spare .308 barrels and 2 new in wrap 8mm barrels. the gun is for fun and i enjoy them as much as i do cars. i still need the rest of the parts. gun is cleaned and in the safe and will stay there until i find the parts. the damn tripods are getting very hard to find, and i just want a "shooter" grade tripod, as i dont care about markings and date codes.


i thought with the wide variety of folks here, someone would know
"someone" .

Very cool!

A guy in town mounted a 50 caibre on his army surplus Jeep and used it as a flag pole. The residents in town had a cow. I think he still has it mounted.

and i still want a semi German MG34 / MG42. but ATF has not been really clear on what they want for a accepted , legal semi -auto modification. all of those guys seem a bit nervous about it....
