after the plumbing problem, I fixed the yard up a bit, but was looking for some landscape ideas. Thanks Image Unavailable, Please Login
You have lots of potential with your lawn. I think increasing the height of the flower bed border by the garage, only slightly higher, and throwing in some colorful flowers and assorted plants would add a lot without being a lot.
I also have about the same sq footage on the other side of the driveway. It runs the length of the driveway.
You've got ample room to do a mix of things. I'm not a landscaper at all, when given ideas I'm able to run with them in my head, however. Not sure if you're interested, but maybe just talking to a landscaper. All you have to do is talk to him and he may throw some ideas out that will get the ball rolling for a DIY job. Too bad you don't live in Houston, a friend of my parents son owns a lawn service (mowing, landscaping, sprinkler as well). He just did my parents yard front and back and made a terrific visual impact, with minimal actually done.
Was the lawn area always that high? Looks like you live on a slope, have you had some erosion problems? Looks nice, the way it is, I like how those two bushes next to the house are cut.
No need to go higher on the planter... means more soil and then you would cover the base of the exsisting plants and would cause them to die or replace them all. But I would add shrubs with color and some seasonal color too, that would help to brighten up the looks. It just too green now. And also looks like you need to fertilizer the lawn.
