I don't mind it online but I know this girl that actually says "dot dot dot" at the end of an akward sentence.
Oh man, I must drive you crazy. I use them in almost every post. I could write grammatically correct, but it would have less meaning and be more difficult to read. I like the dramatic pause (....) and the spacing. It makes it easier on the eyes. =============================================== I must drive you crazy...... I use them in almost every post.... Maybe the way forward would be to start with the small things, like re-introducing the U in Colour or maybe spelling Tyre correctly
when the plane that intersects the cone is at an angle between the angle of the side of the horizontal and the horizontal (assuming the base of the cone is defined as the horizontal) you know since we're trying to be so correct in this thread of note: a plane intersecting parallel to the horizontal would be a circle. a plane at an angle equal to that of the side (parallel to the side), but offset, would make a parabola, and a plane intersection at an angle steeper than the angle defining the side would make a hyperbola. its the basis of all space orbits :thumbs up:
NNO uses it the most. 'Nuff said. - On a serious note, I do take your point. Forget about vB - it has become the norm to use it in office email communique to break up sentences. Somebody stop the madness!
By golly, I've been waiting for your feedback, here. I knew it would be valuable--and it was!(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
I agree! Totally! Though I had nothing to say about a key for those people who cannot finish a complete thought... because I'm one of them!!!!!
Wait... now I am concerned here. What are the penalties for the abuse of an ellipse? Abuses of this sort constantly go unreported, if there is not a law on the books...should we pass a law for such abuses?
The reason is simple. Nobody understands sentence structure anymore. You know, where you express a complete thought, after which you put a period. Almost nobody expresses complete thoughts anymore. Imagine that... Dale
The elipses represent missing TRUTH. As in -- "Bears are cute and cuddly, and make great housepets ..."
LOL finally something sensible added to the conversation. Slightly OT: The past few nights Mr. C has been on a roll. He was starting to slip a bit there but now he's running on all cylinders.
