Wondering if the rear rotors of a 355 are able to be turned. If not , best places to find replacements. Thanks in advance.

If the Disks are Warped, they can be ground down to a smooth surface.
I don't remember the Exact Thickness, but the minimum is punched on them.
Are you replacing the Pads ? Porterfield makes Excellent Street & Track versions.

The rotors can certainly be turned, however, as they get turned down to anywhere near the minimum thickness there's less heat sink to soak up the heat created by braking. Whatever is making the rotors warp (excessive heat buildup is the likely cause) is only going to get worse with rotors turned down even farther....

WHY do you need to have your rotors turned? It's not because of warping. Common myth - brake rotors become warped. Guess what, they do NOT.

    Read this article:

    http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp_warped_brakedisk.shtml

If a rotor is too thin, replace it. If it's still thick enough, and you feel some shudder when braking, it's because of pad deposits on the rotors, and NOT because they are warped. Clean the pad deposits off the rotors, and you'll be fine.

If you're just concerned about the way that the rotors LOOK, e.g., they are scored, don't worry about it. They will still work fine, so long as they are above minimum thickness. Try better pads next time.

    vty,
