Ferrari 5 and 6, not too bad. Hopefully they'll be more towards the top in the coming sessions.

Michael is top on trap speeds in sectors 2 and 3. He needs to work on sector 1 to beat the Honda.

I guess Cosworth are scared about their engines this weekend...

"If you go on board with Ide, you can be pretty sure it's not for anything good." I truly do love listening to Matchet and Hobbs.

Hope we see more action in this practice since it's on tv!

Lots of off's in P1 - Ide is off to a great start in P2.

Wonder if Webber will go out this time around or if he's preserving that engine?

He would have had P1 if it wasn't for S3 - hope he takes it from Alonso.

Mark - the practice champs are falling down the ladder!

Yipee - rain forecasted for qualifying!!!

Toyota is still in the doldrums ... Mike Gascoigne better deliver - he is paid an astronomical sum - $8 MM p.a.

The Williams times are poor only because of very limited running.

The commentators were mentioning that the Ferraris are slightly detuned as they were not able to figure out what caused one the cylinder pistons to fail in Sepang. It was a random failure - different cylinders failed for DC, MS and FM.

Klien and Heidfeld barely put 9-10 laps. Heidfeld has a new engine this race but they still havent figured out.

Its sad to see very few cars running decent number of laps because of reliability concerns.

It was good to see Schumacher, Raikonnen and Alonso put on fast laps from the get-go.

Looks like it will be rain tomorrow - should be fun - the track is very slippy as it is and the rain is gonna make it worse :)

Seems like a driver's placement in practice times has little to do with the final result of qualifying.

I certainly agree with you Sam. The turn where everyone kept going off will be interesting at the start of the race too - Varsha referred to it as "Calamity Corner". So much for thoughts of Michael being "washed-up" - once Ferrari gets their new aero package and other changes in place - Imola is going to be a great race. We'll see what today's practice and qualifying has in store.

Both Ferraris out in the first three minutes of practice.

Really humid there - showing 67% - call was for possible wet qualifying. Three weeks later into the fall than in the past years appears to make a bit of a different. This may be a good thing.

Ide has the best lap time of 2:17.638 and Trulli just jumped to P1.
