I've never been to prison - except to visit someone once...

    But jail... that's a different story... :)

Visited a friend in Twin Towers - he was in for being Black In Public. He said he had something to tell me he didn't want to talk about over the monitored visitor phone.

After he got out, we talked & I got descriptions.

He and others in this particular cell and the one next to it witnessed a murder while in the first set of cells. No other (cellmates in other) cells would have been able to see it, as it was in an "L" shaped section. The murderers were also out of sight of the guard that opens/closes doors. I asked about cameras - he said there were none in this portion of the "L" section, however, there were cameras in the other end.

5 Cops were on the rolling scene of the crime - some in Twin Towers uniforms, others in Sheriff's uniforms. 1 pushed the gurney, 1 was behind him, 1 led the way, another was on the right. The 1 on the left used a plastic bag to asphyxiate a Mexican Guy handcuffed and legcuffed to a gurney. Ostensibly, he'd be on a gurney if he was headed for medical treatment. Cops slowed down, but kept moving, as they probably wanted to sync their time with the next camera.

He could see the guy straining & then go limp - by the time the cops got close, the plastic bag was pocketed & the Mexican was not breathing. I asked him if it was possible this was just some scare tactic/mind game by the cops, he said no - he was dead.

Jail is where you're taken when you're arrested... Prison is where you're taken when you're convicted...

Technically for about 1/2 an hour. All charges droped & record expunged, though I am still waiting on the court mandated letter of appology...

One year I was at the Indy 500, and prior to the start we're sitting in our seats and some nutjob wearing a full racing suit shows up and sits next to me, all by himself. He pulls out a packet of photos and starts shuffling through them, and they're pics of a driver I can't make out and each one is signed. I bit and asked about them. He told me they were pictures of John Paul Jr., so I asked how he knew him. "We were cell mates." OK. Gentleman, start your engines.

I did 4 hours because of a computer bug, I paid the ticket(from 3 years previous) but it somehow went to warrent, seatbelt of all things, yes thats right I went to jail for not wearing a seat belt but paying the fine. It was rather amusing to say the least. One thing I did learn that 4 hours was enough any longer would have been bed. but it was kinda fun and a good story.

My cousin has been in and out. He's now in for at least 3 years, I'm assuming. I think he's just in county now waiting for his court date. I'd assume I'll see him in 5-10 since it was cocaine related charges, and it's not his first offense.

I was in a maximum security lockup for 5 days in 9th grade...don't ask why...

my sentence was 30 days with 25 suspended, so I had to serve 5.

let's just say they were the worst 5 days of my life. imagine a cinderblock cell, painted white, a 24-hr light in the ceiling, cinderblock bed. The only thing that wasn't cinderblock painted white was the "toilet". No cellmates. It was kind of like solitary but not really. I would wake up, not knowing wha time it is, whether I had gotten 12 hours of sleep or one hour. It was just...not fun. Talk about a way to mature though. Nobody messed with me in High School because they assumed I was crazy. Or maybe it was because my brother is huge. I'm a nice boy though, I swear, I love animals and the elderly.

I was one of maybe 3 white kids there. They made us work out in columns of about 25 kids, and if one kid messed up or couldnt do the 500 effing pushups, the whole column had to do it again. Imagine having 25 ripped black guys pissed at you while in excrutiating agony.

No rapings went on, thank god. I don't think that stuff happens to often in juvenile joints.

This was really a max joint thought, there were kids that were in there for serious crimes that were waiting to be tranferred "down state" to Richmond. The doors to the cells were steel with a little glass slit to look through. It was all fairly new and high-tech.

Prison is bad. Don't break the law. (unless you KNOW you won't get caught ;))
