I am currently in the midst of a master bath remodel. My wife and I both like bath sheets (big towels)--the problem in the damp, dark pacific northwest is getting them to dry. As part of the remodel, we have seriously upgraded our exhaust fans (which will help), we are putting radiant heat in the floor (which will help) but the ultimate issue is these bad boys still need to be hung open to dry. Towel heaters seem not to be the answer according to most folks we talked to, as their size wouldn't allow us to spread out both towels.

The answer would seem to be long towel bars, hinged and attached to the wall at one end only, that would swing out to allow the towels to dry while we are at work, but that then could be pressed back in against the wall. The problem is that all hinged towels bars are short (thus not allowing the towel to be spread out) and the pivots are a joke.

So...I am looking for a more industrial bar/pivot assembly (that I could have powdercoated if need be). Anybody have any ideas of something from another application that would work here.

    Thanks--Scott

Air flow, 'round and 'round (ellipses)
I've got a similar problem, and air flow is the only solution I can come up with.
Good luck, let us all know what you discover!

Radiant heat is HIIGHLY recommended. I have a house in Healdsburg in the redwoods, and radiant heat keeps it bone dry everywhere. Any water drops on the floor are gone inside 30min.

Get a really big towel warmer/raidator. They ARE the answer you just have to size it right.
