Steven, What happens when you go in Dunkins for a quick cup of coffe and a curious 10 year old pushes the button? :)

(Said in good humor) i have a switch that will either cause halon release or send through the chassis 1.21 Jigawatts at only 1 Ampere. Shocking >:)

Actually i have the Firebottle mounted in front of the passenger seat so i leave the electrical trigger unhooked for normal commute and resting, then hook it up before the car goes on the track. Of course i could also have wired in a simple covered On/Off (activate/deactivate) switch somewhere in the car.

Still... could wire something in so that if someone presses the button some REALLY LOUD alarm sounds so they get very embarrassed. Come to think of it, they now make PA alarms that record audio, so i could record something really embarrassing so when they press the button it would... :)

Umm.. is it THAT obvious? Should i stop posting the slow 'destruction' of the car?

(modding actually, but destruction sounds like more funner ;) )

    Steven,

Make sure you keep spare keys around for the "KILL SWITCH", I have seen those get hit by stray rubber from other cars and shutting down the car, I was a passenger in a car with an instructor at a Porsche Club Event and the stray rubber hit the key and it flew off and shut the car down. I recommend that you tether the key as well just in case.

Good luck, I miss those PCA Club Racing Days in my 914 with a 964 3.6 motor.

Keep it on the black top.

    Cheers,
    Rhett

Rhett, many thanks for the tethering tip. Have an extra here just in case. Amen about keeping it on the black top.

If i may ask, why did you stop doing PCA Club Racing?

The competition enhancements by Steve are all well thought out and executed - in the future this car will be referred to by high end collectors as the 'Rochlin Ferrari' and be highly sought after. All of this made more exciting by the whispered rumors of the alleged sordid activities that may have occured in it... :)

Great job - very motivational for the rest of us.

Steven, I stop PCA Club Racing for two reasons, the birth of my daughter and the expense just got out of hand. Always looking for the extra tenth here and there. I will tell you this much, it was a blast passing folks with faster cars and out dueling them.

Just remember the primary purpose is to have fun and bring the car home, you're not bringing home any prize money. I have seen many folks pour thousands of dollars into their rides just to destroy it in one run session.

Another suggestion is get a HANS Device just for piece of mind.

    Cheers,
    Rhett

LOL, the Rochlin Ferrari. :) Well, am doing it as i can, but my wife JUST said to me, as i was taking photos of the car a few moments ago, "Oh, you mean the $400,000 Ferrari..." She is kinda right, the expenses are getting a bit much, but the recent mod was nearly free (see below pic, will post a new thread on it).

Amen on everything you said and congrats on your daughter! Hopefully i have taken the care and time to have the car live through many seasons, but understand what you mean about some guys just, well... you know. Agree about HANS and to date have ALWAYS used the Sparco Nomex anatomical neck support.

Scrap the SPARCO Anatomical neck support. It will do you no good. Take it from one that has seen folks get hurt. Folks spend a alot of money on their toys and forget their own well being!

Next time I get back up to NH, I WANT A RIDE DAMMIT!

I used to live on the western outskirts of Keene, just a little west of Keene Country Club...
