I was planning on getting rosso fiorano and was quite bummed when I found out it was not offered on 430's. The price for out of range is not that outrageous, but I was chicken about 1. increased time and 2. the possiblility of a sub par job if it was "custom". I'll be anxious to know how yours comes out.

I can't see it taking a whole bunch of time -- it shouldn't take long to create the custom paint and throw it into the robot's paint supply. And the quality of the painting will be identical (within tolerances) to any other F430 painted. The "out of range" cost isn't too bad, compared to the cost for a truely custom color provided by customer...

Do you really know if there´s a time increase? If so, how long would it be?

What´s the meaning of sub par job??

    Thank u

napoleon, sub par means that the job isn't very good. In painting you will see defects and imperfections. You never want a sub par job done on anything.

Cuio inside! Even better! IMO the best colour for a black/dark grey/grey car!

I have seen two special color order F430s delivered in the SF Bay Area in the last few months (the red/black and the smurf blue), and they were both delayed around 4 - 5 months. The paint looks to be same quality (excellent) as you normally see on other 430s.

This is accurate. All Ferraris are painted in a separate automated state-of-the-art paint facility in Maranello and special colors are merely queued into the paint process. The special color will have no influence on the quality of the paint application.

The color choice itself, tasteful or not, will be virtually flawless.

SORRY FOR THE DELAY IN THE REPLY BUT I WAS IN EASTERN HOLYDAYS.

To make it short I tried to save some money with a turistic plate and the story turned into a night mare. I know it´s a little hard to hear but my very best fiend is non resident and I tried to say that the car was his, so all went messed up...........................

Too long but it was a kind of like this, so sorry if I borred you but it´s my story.

I´m waiting for the new one and I will make things look and be properly done.

When I have pictures I will post them for you.

    C u all

I love that shade of blue!

Operative word "shouldn't" is diametrically opposed to the Italian implementation of time and duration of tasks.

Agreed that the quality of painting should not be lower than normal.
