Things have gotten out of hand and personal and its too bad for fhcat isn't the same without the likes of lamour and Darth and some others. I get their humor, others apparently don't, too bad.
Not sure, but I understand where John is coming from. Certain people here get away with murder. the next guy can't fart w/o a mod telling him to watch it. It should be fair across the board. I understand rules are rules, but I have seen it many times, rules broken and unless SOMEONE complains--it goes away.. Not blaming anyone---it should be the same across the board for EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!! As now it is NOT!!! We all post stupid stuff once in awhile, some more than others, but to get banned or a threat of banning for substituting letters or characters in place of a cuss word to get a point across is crazy. Have a subscribed only OOT and let the fun begin. There you would be allowed to post whatever you want. Then in the regular OOT--have it monitered like it is now. That gives the guys a place to cuss or rant and rave away from the basic forms. Not a sermon, Just a thought.

Some people just don't get the message. I don't want John to go away for good, just get things back where they should be and I've tried to do it as nicely as possible. No drama from this side to start, but message wasn't getting across. Not much else I can do. If John Lamour is right with his OOT posts, then FerrariChat.com and I will just have to be wrong. There is a time and place for everything, even on FerrariChat.com, but not all the time and every place. Sorry John, I'll miss you for the most part.
Agree with this idea. I've watched a lot of e-groups (e-mail reflectors and internet forums) evolve and healthy ones adapt to changing behaviors. Special interest groups get started and members support each other in the common interest. As they get to know each other, personalities come out and it becomes a social group, not just an interest group. Good knowledgeable people get tired of the same discussions all the time and need something else to bring them back; and in any case these tend to be interesting people in other respects than the common interest. So the Conference Room/Lounge split has been a common solution here and elsewhere. But even a CR/Lounge split can be constraining as the group gets bigger, the relations more complex and the personalities more open. So why not a Conference Room/Lounge/Bar-Backroom split? A subscribed OOT, call it the Cellar Rendezvous, where anything goes and a clear warning that it happens. Then zero-tolerance in the Lounge (public OOT).

I can't assume to know what exchanges happened prior to the one being posted, but he threatened you with a permanent ban, you could just say you'll tone it down abit for like a week or two, then go at it again.....my 2cents
I agree, make another besides the nsfw area. let the non-subscribed OTT be for everyone, and then if we want to joke around with each other, move it to the SOTT.
Since you asked......... I 'll throw my 2 cents in... Guys, I think, for the most part, the mods do a great job here. I've been to other boards and most are much worse as far as being balanced or controlled. I agree that it's important to be fair and equal but I don't think the same punishment is deserving for someone that does something once in a blue moon vs. someone who constantly pushes the boundaries. John, it's clear they are trying to clean things up a bit. I understand if you decide it isn't for you. It's a personal thing only you know. My feeling in reading your posts is that you're a good guy. I enjoy reading some of your stuff. But, I think you've become more of a persona then yourself here. You don't have to be the class clown. Anyway, I'm not preaching..... I'm just jumping in as a friend to say, self assess, and think if you don't agree that we've gotten a bit school yard around here. Cool down......... I'd be pissed to if I received that PM. But, be fair to yourself and realize that an outsider (me) has told you he likes you but you do go overboard on your posts. Oh, and Steph, I'm leaving too.......
