This morning, I missed it. I would have stayed up for it, had I known. From an E-mail, received a day too late: "On Wednesday of next week, at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00 in the morning, the time and date will be 01:02:03 04/05/06."
Only in the USA though as the rest of the world uses the day/month/year method which would be 05/04/06...or 5 April 2006
My 11 year old told me the world will end June 6 of this year. Helps tremendously with the retirement planning.
What ever happened to that meteor they found years ago that was supposed to hit the Earth and kill everyone armageddon style in 16 or 17 years.. is that thing still on its way?
My dad's birthday is July 8th, and a few years ago (okay, 16) we were able to celebrate at 12:34:56 7-8-90. Fortunately we were at the horse track, so there was more to do than stare at the clock on the wall.
If you really want to get down to it, there are trillions of things that "will" wipe the earth out. Which one will get here first {1,000,000 years away?} And will Bruce Willis still be around to save us? Big questions.
well yeah, i think it's funny all the stuff about "oh it will never be this date and time again"... well-duh! that's why database guys like me name everything based on the date and time, down to the millisecond if need be, but usually a filename like '20060407_160521' is good enough, that's the current time here btw. oh wow, that date and time will never happen again, oooooooh...
actually, i find it interesting that about 3/4 of the people i talk to frequently have a triple digit as their final number. that's how i identify people if i'm not on my mobile... i'm 222, gf's 444, and mates are various other triple numbers.
