I know its good to let your muscles rest but is it ok to workout your entire body
4-5 times a week, instead of doing individual parts?

    for example

5 different weight lifting exercises for upper body (mostly arms and chest)

    about 300 sit-ups daily

50 leg lifts (i think thats what you call them...focus on abs )

    squats

    and about 40-60 pushups

    Thank you
    any advice would be appreciated!

You'd have better results if you worked out 5 days a week alternating upper and lower body. You can do cardio everyday, though. :)

    under the sea!
do a search, multiple multiple threads in regards to this matter...

    in a nutshell...

    12 weeks....
low reps, heavy weights... you wanna bulk up...
    don't over do it...
eat a TON... and eat CLEAN!!!!!!
cardio everynow and then just to keep your heart in check....

    next 12 weeks...
    CUT!!
    keep up the weights,
incorp. cardio for 30-45 min 4x - 5x a week.... keep your heart rate between 125-130
cut your caloric intake by 400 cals...
    eat CLEAN!!!!

as for as supplements... nothing works other than protein and steroids so don't waste your time or money.... just stick to the protein

I agree. Cadrio is key to my lifting work outs because the stamina it provides and it surprisingly adds more definition to some of the areas you are working out... And as mentioned in my Health and Fitness and Men's Health mags and personal trainer, you really have to change up forms of work outs and sets otherwise the body and mind become bored and go though the motions instead of focusing on an intense work out and putting the most energy into a quick rep. High load, structured work out regiments are fine if pushed by a partner/team/trainer. Alone you will be so repetitive that your body will adjust. I experienced this while training for a bike race where I would do massive sit ups like you did but not put in thte amount of energy needed to increase effects after the hum drum of sets done in a few weeks. Switching up stomach/chest moves like ditching the crunches for the plank for a week, you'd be shocked at the way your body reacts and how new muscles begin to strengthen by adding leg lifts to your stomach moves or dropping curls for plyometrics.

BMWM3, I would say focus on upper body some days, lower body others all followed up by cardio. But most importantly, do not go about all structured: this set all the time work out routine week in week out. This is because your mind and body will adjust to the numbers and you won't give it the extra step needed to achieve results. Regardless, best of luck and I hope you achieve what you are aiming for.

I completely changed my diet and eating habits 3 weeks ago once I worked out a plan with my trainer. It wasn't that hard though because I had given up fast food, junk food and soda 2 years ago anyway.

Meals every 3 hrs except the 9 or so for sleep. Protein shakes (9am, 3pm) and vitamin supplements (6am, 9pm) 2X a day.

I eat healthy snacks all day in between healthy meals.. I cheat maybe once a week but that keeps me from hitting the plateau. I lost 4 lbs this week.. I didn't work out (even though I should) I just stuck to my diet. I try to eat a million times a day to speed up my metabolism, I'm convinced it's the slowest one, ever.

Hahaha.. who doesn't? I sometimes do the SEEFOOD diet, you know, where you see food and eat it?! That's my favorite diet but not necessarily the most effective for weightLOSS, works for weight gain though. :(
