Front hood water shield sealant in 91 TR

Dear Ferraristi,

I noticed a small crack in the water shield in the front hood of my 91 Testarossa. This is the plastic piece that directs air to the HVAC. I bought a new one and it seems to be attached with simple pop rivits. There is a sealant used between the hood and the plastic. Anyone got any good recomendations? I'm sure it's some 3M product. It's definately not silicone.

Any help is allways appreciated.

Any ideas ? I'm sure it's a 3m sealant from discount auto parts. There are so many, I don't know which.

I've also used the brushable type with good results. Try www.eastwood.com and search on "seam sealer".

My 512TR is letting water into the front storage area from the hood water shield. I've removed the water shield and it's not too pretty (photos attached). The water shield isn't in the best shape but I can't find a new one on the web so it'll have to do, unless anyone has a good source?

I was thinking of using Tiger Seal but perhaps that's going to be hard to remove if / when necessary as it provide a strong grip. I used this for my fog lights and have some to hand. I see that Steve M provided a link to an Eastwood sealant but that can no longer be followed.

Any thoughts on if Tiger Seal is ok for this or advise on a better sealant option please?

How do you remove the water shield?
The rivets look like plastic.
Do you have to drill each one out or do they pop out with a small pry tool?
