    No a 512TR is a Testarossa but a pre 1992 Testarossa is not a 512TR.

There are several important differences, most important is that the frame in the 512TR is 1 piece but 2 pieces in the early TRs

Nice when I dyno'd my 512TR coupe road car it came back around 470 hp at the flywheel. I think my race 512TR is a bit over 500 hp while the Slutmobile is probably over 600 hp

excuse my ignorance guys but in the first few pages of this thread there is a tr with the seatbelts going accross from the front of the car to the centre console? whats all this about?

are the pics from a show and they are there to stop people climbing in and out of your car?

i noticed the same in a later post too.

the clips on the front post look a bit ugly to me?

Those are just the stock US seatbelts that have moved into the "get in" position. If you open the door, they move into that position for the person to get in, and then they move into the "closed" position (above the shoulder) once the door is shut and the key is turned "on".

In that photo, the RH door has been opened and then closed, but the key has not yet been turned "on" (so it's still in the "get in" position) -- and since the LH door is open, that side is also in the "get in" position. Often for photos of US TR with the door open, the end of the belt at the door frame side is disconnected and the whole belt is just rolled into the center console. This jpeg shows an example -- note the "mouse" (with the little red disconnect handle) is still in the "get in" position at the front of the door frame, but the belt has been disconneted and rolled into the center console.

Be thankful you live in a part of the world where most TR don't have these "mousebelts" ;)

that souds alot confusing to me not sure i fully understand. so the belt mechanism is not just inside the door like on most cars then??? or is it??

and how does it move from tone position to another?, need more pics, if any tr woners would like to give a step by step photo lesson for me that'd be ace!!!

A bad choice of words by me -- by "door frame" I meant the opening in the body for the door (not part of the door itself). Not a great quality jpeg, but this shows the US system:

The TR in Post #36 is a Euro/Standard version TR that is just living in Florida (it's not a US version TR). The safety laws don't change state to state, but not all Euro TRs brought here are "converted" completely ;)

(and it's only the later US TR that have the mousebelts)

Circa '86~'87, the US lawmakers decided that people here weren't smart enough to operate a conventional seat belt so the safety systems have to be "passive" here in the US. If someone could make (and legally sell -- which they can't) a conventional seat belt set-up for the later US TR, it would be in high demand.

Correction: It's just the '85 model year US TR that have conventional manual seatbelts ('86 and later US TR have the mousebelts).
