I have a GTS but I really like the looks of a GTB. The GTS is more fun though.
The GTB is rare but GTS is more desirable, hence, it commands more $.

Don't worry Gus, we won't sell our cars to you. We'd like them to go somewhere they'll have a stable home! :D

It's ok Wes, I've done it too. I need to find some kind of black film that I can remove when I'm done, and do it for real.

I have a huge roll of black Contact paper. Had to get it special order. It would do the trick! <grin>

The rear quarter louvres on mine are made from some sort of a plastic material. From the looks of things here (especailly Mike's site referenced earlier), it looks as if those louvres which have been "B'd" were done by simply cutting out a number of the louvres? Or, are these modified louvres made from metal instead of plastic?

This seems on the surface like a simple modification, but in my case the original plastic frame has warped a bit due to the sun and engine heat, so that if I were to open up the louvres as you all have done, I am fairly certain that there would be large gaps between the louvre frame and the body which would look poor.

So, did some GTS's come with plastic louvres, and other years made from metal?

    Cheers - DM

You are correct, we all simply modified the louver by removing a few of the 'slats'. In Tillman and Mikes case, they reinforced the bottom of the louver with a metal strip to insure that it would hold together structurally, and also to cover the rubber gasket around the lower portion of the window. Mine has no reinforcement, and is plenty strong.

Tillman and I both bought and extra set and did the modifications on them, so our originals can be put back on the car. I think if you're pretty handy with tools you could do the modification yourself, just cut out the unwanted parts, sand it down, and spray it. We had the advantage of having a friend that owns a body shop and is also a Ferrari owner, so we let him do the work.

See http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=42225 for in-progress pics of my louvers. As Jim mentioned, it has a L channel of aluminum with the upper part of the L against the glass.

    Peter,

The top looks great! The red really does blend well.

We don't list many 308 parts anymore and Peter got the last targa I had in stock.
