Do the front fenders really need to be rolled with 19" novitech wheels on a 360. Current 360/Novitec owners please chime in! Thanks!

i dont know about novitec rims, but a lot of people roll them even with stock 360 rims...seems that if you drive the car hard, the fenders get pulled quite often...i would think it would be necessary for those who track the cars.

The dealer -ALGAR is bring my 360 home Thursday. We fit 19in OZ racing three pc superleggaras with new Pzero rubber. The reason the dealer has the car was I was thinking of dropping the ride height....Not doing it because under hard breaking the fenders will rub I was told.....Put the wheels on and check out the ride height and rubbing issues before rolling the fenders...

Dave at Premier will roll your fenders. He is doing mine next week in anticipation of the arrival of my new 19" HRE's. Tim

I had some HRE's made for my 360 spider made and was told that I did not really need to roll the fenders. The front were 19", back 20". To make a long story short, the front fenders bent and had to have them rolled after the fact so I would suggest proactively making the investment to roll them so you have no problem and have to possibly paint some cracking paint later.

    Jay,

On my Novitec 360, indeed I had to have the front fenders rolled. It is a very simple procedure and I had to have it done twice. I believe I also had the back fenders rolled slightly as well.

There is considerable twist that is exerted on the front end of the 360, especially if the car is tracked. I've seen several examples of buckling that occurs in the front fender well in 360s. The quick solution was to roll the fender back. The permanent solution was to place a cross-bracing arm across the front trunk to provide additional support.

Short answer - don't bother placing any bracing arm if you don't need to. Simply roll the front fenders slightly if you are going with the Novitec wheels, and your life will be simplified.

Here's a pic of my car after the fenders were rolled:

I had to roll my fenders only after lowering the car. If you leave it stock heighth I would guess you wouldn't need to. You can roll your fenders yourself with a heat gun, a wooden baseball bat, and some patience. Heat the paint so it is more pliable and then slowly roll the bat along the tire pushing the lip up. Use the different parts of the taper on the bat to varie the amount of roll. Make sure the bat is wood! Many people cringe at rolling fenders on these cars, remember Ferrari does it on every CS.

09 was the first season with my 03 360 Modena. My car is stock and even with standard wheels and tires, I am having both front fenders rolled. I had the car at Mosport a couple of times through the summer and discovered I had small chunks of rubber jammed up the inside upper lip of both wheel wells.
As someone mentioned earlier, if the car is driven hard, you will have front tire fender contact. The fenders also can carve out some nice chunks out of your tires.
The dealer is rolling the fenders on mine.
Sounds like from a few of you that once the fenders are rolled properly, there shouldn't be a problem again. Any comments?
