I would love to bring a Spyker(NL) but that does not seem to be realistic at this moment. I can bring a six pack of Hoegaarden(B). Anything else?
Early to start thinking about it, but have a look at this..food for thought! http://***************/showthread.php?p=76595#post76595
Andrea, after reading the fuel consumption figures for the 12cylinder cars in the 599GTB thread, I think one of you guys needs to come in a fuel tanker. That way you can tank while on the move like the big military jets (mid- autostrada re-fueling) and keep up with the little 8cylinder cars that can travel 3 time further on the same tank of fuel
Further but significantly slower! We have plenty of time to fill up, have lunch, sleep a bit and still arrive at the same time.
Announcement! For the first 3 nights in S. Margherita Rachel and I will be using my old family house (which is just in front of the restaurant, by the way ). We just learned that my grandmother (93 yers old) doesn't feel like travelling anymore, therefore the house will be free all summer. This means that one room at the S. Margherita hotel becomes free. If anyone had been thinking about joining the trip... this is the time to do it, before I cancel the extra room!!! In S. Gimignano I have found another beautiful place not too far from us, which is where Eugenio and Maura will be staying. This place still has some rooms available, so please let me know soon! PS I don't mean the room is "free" - you still have to pay for it

AHA! I almost forgot! Mark, you are coming from England, so I recommend you talk to our other English friends as they are planning to drive down together on saturday July 8. I will have to book you into the hotel Frohsinn in Arbon, Switzerland, for July 8. We will have our first dinner (& first beers ) there. Let me know if you need a double or a single room. On sunday July 9 we leave EARLY (9AM on the road) towards the Alps. We'll cross the Julierpass (6600 Ft.) if the weather is nice. From there we'll drive down to St. Moritz, down the Maloja Pass into Italy where we'll have lunch just across the border. From there it's a good 2 hour drive to Milan, where we'll get on the highway and drive down to S. Margherita Ligure on the Mediterranean Sea. I estimate we could be there by 4-5 PM. We'll be there for 3 nights (9-10-11 July). That's the hotel where you are already booked in. On July 12 we'll drive to S. Gimignano, Tuscany. You'll be with Eugenio in an agriturismo while we'll all be together in another one (sorry but we are too many, can't fit all in the same place). We'll stay 3 more nights, 12-13-14 July during which we'll do some driving, some relaxing by the pool, and lots of eating & wine tasting ! On July 15 we'll take the Mille Miglia road from Florence to Bologna, where we'll catch the Brenner Highway and drive up to a mountain lake resort in the Alps, where we'll have our final evening together. I guess I need to book you there too! Mark, please PM me with all your hotel requirements.

How about sharing a pool of tools? This trip will be over 2.000 km for most of us. Useful to help ourselves in the pampa would be: - starter cables - jack - fresh tyre fit set (auto pilot) - tow rope - torque wrench, nuts - multimeter - laptop with CD DVD; list of good mechanic shops on the way - all kind of sprays against everything (Autan ) - Apotheke With a tool pool we could keep our cars light and save some trunk space for shoes ... Any ideas? cinque
- credit card(s) - cell phone - Brunello di Montalcino Anthing else waste to much space and at least its always the wrong spare part(s) you take along
Andrea - thanks for the route details. I have been trying to PM you, but your FChat mailbox is fulL! Cheers, MARK
Wow! I have been away for one week and this thread is suddenly back alive again! Fantastic news that Mark will join us! 10 cars!! That is fantastic!
