Americans pay more for service because

    A. Parts are more expensive over here and that is the direct fault of Ferrari North America. If their parts price structure was lower so would be T Rutlands etc.

Don't like it? By a Ford.

    B. American businesses are more expensive to run than any other as a result of all our laws, rules, and regulations, liability exposure due to our courts, insurance costs etc.

    Don't like it? Vote different.

    C. Because of our cost of living and shortage of skilled labor a top mechanic in the US often makes a 6 figure income. They don't have to pay those kinds of salaries in the UK.

    Don't like it? Move.

I don't care what business you are in, you have to know that operating in the US costs more, a lot more. Service industries are at the top of the list. It is very similar to your business and for many of the same reasons.

Is a 308 water pump the same as a 328 water pump?
Superformance (UK) have 308 Water Pumps at GBP 105.00 (less than 200 bucks)

Yes they do - but check out the part numbers before you buy. There were several iterations of the 308/328 waterpump & I'm pretty sure the ones being sold for this kind of money are not the latest (and therefore the most robust) version.
