    That would look even better with the new Sony Bravia XLP LCD. I have one and it's awesome, but not sure if they go up to 70", in fact, they probably don't, only plasmas get that big. Go Sony anyway.

    Thanks for the info.....

    But, you see that tv sitting up there? That has a screen height of 27" approx. The largest Bravia XLP is 40" with a screen height of approx. 23". So, that is no good. That's why you need such a big TV if you go widescreen. The 71" has a height of 34" so it will be just 7" higher then a 46" std. ratio TV!

    See the mockup I did a few pictures ago. I think that shows how it will look. Though the new Samsungs are black.

    Need, no....... But it will be.

    You could paint or just varnish it, but I want it darker.

    REfrig will create artifacts if on same electrical lines as hi-fi, tv system, and compressor noise in proximity to equipment is not good, even if on isolated line. Recommended: Hubbell hospital grade (yes, that Hubbell) AC outlets, give some thought to cut-outs for easy cable routing of low level signal cables (video and audio) following separate paths than AC.

    I am dealing with thorny AC noise artifacts right now because my latest hi-fi set up is extremely efficient (107db/1watt/a meter) and have become extremely compulsive about wiring and jamming stuff into cabinets.

    If I get the new Samsung it will be black, I think....... That's the best I can do for you.

    Whart, the low level cables were pulled long ago before the wall were even in. I've noticed no issues with anything at this point. I do have a chase if I need to run additional lines.

    Antony, I know you're going to think I'm BSing you, but I have not played the game at all. I would be a fool to let you play me now. I might have to rig your side someway. Plan on stopping by........

    Thanks.... I put a lot of thought into all aspects of it. I've moved real slow so I could be sure of what I wanted. I custom designed the 1/2" glass shelves & that's a just released Samsung HLS-7178 DLP 71" 1080p TV. It arrived Tuesday......

    Now I can finish off the trim work and the gas fireplace I put in next to it.
