Thanks for the info. Yeah i was intrigued to find a twin cam motor in a 500.
Don't ask me why, but I've suddenly got an urge to have a 500. Has anyone here seen the blue one for sale in Melbourne (the aforementioned $13,990 example)? There's also a red on in Melbourne for $11K. Anyone know that one? Am I mad? I like the fact that it is Italian and (I think) collectable - and affordable. Unlike Goobs, I don't want a project. I'd rather pay full price and know that I'll need to keep spending but can use the car in the meantime. All advice welcome.
u are mad, i went thru this phase and after i bashed myself with a wet towel across the head i bought a urraco. BTW did u get my sms re the revamped SFR for this sunday, cruisey and brekky somewhere east of glenelg
i moght even try to fit a chev 350 in the back of one these things, give the ommplahaoopahs something to do
trimmer is slow as buggery, but then i did say electric /fluro blue carpet, electric blue leather seats and trim and electric blue alcantara (most expensive fabric on the planet) on the dash and console. so lime green and electric/fluro blue. donks done and now we await assembly, i need tthe room, my olive oil proceesing plant kicks into gear in a month so i gotta clear it of lambo parts
Hell, with all that electric blue, you might need to fit a bigger battery. I can't wait to see it. We'll have a big turnout that Sunday, that's for sure.
There is (was a couple of weeks ago) one in a showroom on Port Road (south side close to Adelaide end) sharing space with a Borgward Isabella Coupe. Toothpaste Blue in colour, it looked like an early 1960's Nuova 500 version rather than the late 60's version. I'll find out the address proper and report back.....
Thanks Simon. I finally got down there today and peeking in the window as the showroom is locked. You are right - it is an early one with the suicide doors. Looks very nice too but when I rang the number on the window, the guy said the car isn't for sale.
