Sorry to get away from your running problem for a minute, but why did they replace your motor mounts? What was wrong with them?

    Hi,
I spent all day long trying to look at things and one of my air intake pipes is disconnected just beyond the arch, there were leaves stuck behind it so air intake would have been restricted. Looked at the airfilter and its all ok.
However unplugging one of the airflow sensors just after the airfilter box the engine cuts out immediately, and unplugging the other one the engine continues idling.

Could I have found the fault and what should be the next steps in fixing this?

I sent a message to Richard Lukins of Rosso Corsa and surprise surprise he has still not got back to me.

Beginning to think it might be an electrical problem too.

Let me know if you can test on your 348 with disconnecting the plugs to see how it idles

Im back, i went around, started the car and then took off the LH airflow sensor plug 1st,the car did not stall but it did drop to 500RPM at idle. I then connected it back up and the revs came good again at 1000RPM. Then i disconnected the RH side sensor plug and it did the same thing. Revs came down to 500RPM,but the engine did not stall. Reconnected it again and back to normal. Disconnect both airflow sensors, and the engine stalled of course. :p Hope this helped you out :)

Try disconnecting the exhaust ecu for the side that was cold and see what happens.

Hi Viresh, sorry I missed your call before (got to spend some time away from Ferrari's ;) )

So we now know (as we both thought) one bank isnt firing properly, did you try swaping the ECU's over or remove the plugs?

Andrew, hi and thanks for all your efforts so far.

It got dark and I came indoors will swap ECU's over today behind the seats, looking at the workshop manual to find out location of the exhaust ECU's mentioned a few posts ago, not sure if they have fuses either so trying to read through the PDF on a tiny laptop screen

Thanks to everyone taking time out this easter to post and help me.

    Hey Everyone,
I have a 91 348. Had the same problem. Exactly. It ended up being a failure i the electrical connection to the 5-8 CATS. Had it "repaired" and all the electrical wires silicone treated. Now works fine. Once in a blue moon the problem will happen, and I will restart the car, and everything is fine. Happy driving....David

    Hi all,
Thanks for all your input.. went to see Karl at Verdi (UK) today, great to see his mind at work.. he had it diagnosed in about 10 minutes and fixed in another 5 minutes.. it was the MAF sensor that was faulty, replaced and it drove fantastically.. took the long route home cos for once.. I finally had the ferrari

    Lets put it this way...
Verdi - 15 mins to fix
Rosso Corsa - 6 months and nothing!!

In my honest opinion, Rosso Corsa ripped me off; did absolutely nothing and charged me a fortune.. Verdi sorted me out and showed me what the difference is between the Cowboys at RC and the SPECIALISTS at Verdi

Great to hear that Viresh, told you its easier to diagnose if the cars in front of you ;) did Verdi replace the MAF or clean it (as suggested last week)

Brilliant stuff guys, because my Mondial t is suffering from EXACTLY the same problem - lack of power under load beyond certain rpm depending on engine load, but still runs smoothly (on one bank I strongly suspect), occasionally clears its throat, etc etc. So manifold pressure sensor = prime suspect - and even better, its going for a holiday down at Verdis (cambelt change) next week! It doesn't come much better - thanks in anticipation!
