I actually disagree with some who would say your post was inappropriate for this forum. You didn't actually post anything that hasn't been done by dozens of other members of this community. You even went out of your way to adhere to the protocols of this community in warning of purient content. Heck, you played by the game. You clearly have a fan club of other members of this forum who find your contributions to this forum to be appropriate and encourage you for more.

Rob Lay has allowed far more provacative postings with impunity. He sets the standard for what is or isn't allowed here, and some of us find his standards inappropriate. But it's his sandbox, and we can just decide to not play here if it offends us.

But I do take exception to a member of the board of directors of the NWRFCA, whose responsibility is to guide the activities of that club, posting this, and many other simlar things that have been posted on this forum. Your actions here on this forum do reflect in part on the FCA, and for that reason, I find fault in your behavior.

So I thank you for resigning your position on the board of directors of the nwrfca.

 

I am sad that this event has caused you to resign Roy. I think you could have planned some great events for the club, however, given the circumstances, I understand your decision and respect it. I think this situation was blown out of proportion, and I know I will get an earful now for saying that because im only 18, I dont even own a ferrari blah blah blah but its my opinion. I hope to meet you at one of the events soon Roy.

You are correct Ken, when you are on a board of directors, everything you do does indeed reflect upon your organization. Keep in mind that a lot of what we do is charity work and therefore I also thank Roy for doing the correct thing and resigning.

 

Call me inconsiderate...that's fine with me, but some people are waaay to sensitive. Turn on your tv, you'll see the same thing, turn on your radio and you'll here an ad about the same thing. It's everywhere...so stop being a bunch of prude's. If you don't want this "crap" in your society..then it's up to you to leave yourself out of it. so get over it....

 

I was ready to join the club then the "Anti Life, Liberty, & Pursuit of Happiness" police show up. Since I don't belong to the club I probably have no right to chime in here but folks it was just pics, no lives in danger, no 200mph runs in traffic, no drugs, etc. Fast cars & fast women have always gone together, its an Italian thing. Lighten Up!

Well as an active advocate of Roy as Entertainment (oops, Activities) Director, I was too late to see what the post was, but I have heard. I thought Roy would activate the activities of the Club with new, innovative, fun, ideas. I WAS RIGHT. I don't know if it is too late for Roy to resign his resignation, but I will re-nominate him.

We are here to have fun. As someone said: lighten up. And Roy, thanks for the shake up.

This is just a little car club, not the United Nations.

So let me get this straight, it's alright to talk about Roy's female friends, it's alright to take pics or video of them, it's alright to make comments about them....etc, etc, etc........ BUT it's not alright for Roy to post an off-site link WITH a warning showing off some of what almost all of you have oggled.

Seems like a pretty severe case of HYPOCRISY to me and that is one thing I CAN'T STAND.

Wasn't it just a day or two ago that comments were made about what "hottie" Roy would be bringing to Cannon Beach. Scroll back through your memory banks about some of the comments and pictures that have been posted in this forum about women. I don't think there are very many of us at all that would be able to cast that first stone.

Maybe it's my turn to say "I don't want to be a part of club that's run like THIS"??

Sorry to see you step down Roy, ask Dana it is a hard job, and the job takes many hours to work, I thought you would be great at it with your love of cars and people. I don't think there was a lot of hands in the air when the job opened up. Hope to see you at the up comming events!

I was only a potential candidate that lasted for a month or so before I offended enough people I felt I ought to quit. Roy lasted a month. I think TMW ought to step up - he's retired and has plenty of free time whereas Roy and I have real jobs! At least Ted isn't as sensitive as Roy and I are and is likely to survive more than a month.

Nothing like strippers or suggestive sexuality to offend people. I think the day I spent 170k on a car to drive on my lunch hour while fully knowing other people are living in extreme poverty was the day I loss all credibility to chastise others about morals. Owning an exotic is all about decadence. Roy likes girls and cars. For others it is a ridiculously large house and cars, boats, planes ect, ect. I don't think you are going to find a modern day Gandhi or Jesus surfing F-Chat looking 430 or G car. I thought the warning on the link was enough.

About the NWRFCA

The Northwest Region of the Ferrari Club of America (NWRFCA) is a local chapter of the Ferrari Club of America and is comprised of members from the Northwest United States. Ferrari enthusiasts who live in the states of Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, and Washington make up our membership.

We currently have approximately 200+ club members in our region, most of whom own at least one Ferrari automobile. Ownership of a Ferrari, however, is not required for club membership. We invite anyone who lives in the the Northwest and who has an interest in Ferrari automobiles to join us!

The purpose of the NWRFCA is the same as the purpose of the National Ferrari Club of America, which is to:

1. Inspire ownership, operation, restoration and preservation of Ferrari automobiles throughout the country.

Thank you very much, Dave Tegeler for thinking I am stupider than you. You didn't want to be activities director, why do you think I would? Life is too short to deal with those who dissed Roy. And, of course, no one could do as good a job as Roy would have.

Actually I now call for the Entire Board to resign or I will hire an Independent Investigator to perform thorough background checks on all Board Members too see what skeletons are in their closets. And to help them out of those closets!

And I hereby nominate Roy to be the Albert Lim of the Ferrari Club: absolute dictator. Then we'll have a fun club!

I want to throw in a comment here. I'm sort of on the fence on this-- on one hand, I think it's hard to fault Roy for posting his link. I didn't choose to look at it, but it was appropriately labelled and I can't really see what the big deal is.

On the other hand, I have an 8 year old son who I would like to bring to club events sometimes, and I do want to be sure that events are appropriate for everyone, or at least clearly indicated if the content might be inappropriate.

I do appreciate Roy being willing to step forward and put the work in. And I'm sure most of the events he would have planned (and I would have considered attending) would have been fine. But it is a consideration.

 

Ted - I'm the benovelent dictator! Mr Dictator to everyone else! As for the Lamborghini Club - you can own whatever you want. It is only a car club - we are here to share our love of cars.

 

Ted, I really need to stick up for Albert here. He was in fact voted in as Benevolent Dictator and has performed admirably in that capacity. We performed a background check and he assured us that he had never broke the speed limit and did not know where De ja vu was located.
