The yellow murci is owned by Richy from Cost you Less......he gets his wheels from D2 in Alhambra over here. I was just in the philippines last month.....saw some lambos: 2 murcis, 1 gallardo, 3 360s, 2 355s, 1 430. I was planning on shipping a red 00 360 and a black 430 back home but the only ***** is the taxes. Anyone have hook ups? I really wanna retire there. Found some great homes in White plains, Valle Verde, and the best was Acropolis....sheesh, saw one house with a 40 car parking lot, no kidding. Sheesh, and I thought Rancho Palos Verdes was nutty.

Correct me if I'm wrong, isn't her real first name Aubrey too? I've been trying to confirm this because she looks so much like the girl i used to date back in highschool. :)

I wish I had seen this thread before I left for the Philippines last month.

Last I heard, the YellowGallardo belongs to the owner of Villarica pawnshop.

During my stay there, I was at PGA Cars a couple of times trying get some figures for a 2003 GT2. I was planning to ship back a couple of my cars until I was told that taxes will drain my $$$ pocket. I am still debating if it would be better to sell my car here in the US then buy another locally (Phil).

I also met a guy named Joey Vitug who owns a red F430...great car, great owner. Even took me to a sports car gathering in Tagaytay.

It was the 1st time I went back in 5 long years! The country has improved a lot.

Guys, does anyone know the approximate calculation of taxes of cars going to the PI? Over here when I sell cars I base it off of the owner's registration address........

    Verone,

The taxes differ from model year to model year. If you know what car you would like to bring in, let me know and I will see if I can get my broker to estimate the duties for you.

pare, salamat! thank you soo much! Here's the list:

    00 ferrari 360 modena
    00 porsche 911 c2
    98 ferrari 355

Thanks! Shipping to either Clark or Manila. Is it true that if I ship to clark that tax is cheaper?

Besides tax and duties, what other costs will I expect to pay when the cars get there?

Wow, didnt realize this too. There's quite a handful pinoys on this board. Nice too know im not alone :D

I just made it official, I finally got me a plane ticket to Manila. I'll be in Manila for 10 days and Cebu for 11 days. Mostly for relaxation and semi-business. It would be awesome to meet a few Ferrari owners and visit the Ferrari dealership. I've done my search for decent hotels in Makati area, there are so many to choose from. I plan on staying somewhere close by Greenbelt and Rockwell. Just by looking at the photos, the malls/clubs/restuarants looks as if they're in the U.S. its so modern. Forgive me, Im just a little excited, I havent been to Manila since the 80's. 11 years ago, I was in Cebu for 2 weeks and didnt have a chance to visit Manila.

Is there a Ferrari dealer that is good in Manila?

    Verone,

Just spoke to my broker. The good news is that the $10k surcharge has been scrapped. The bad news is that it is still difficult to get a definitive quote unless he runs the numbers through the Customs bureau. He can do this when you decide finally to ship.

He estimates that the Ferraris will cost about $50 to $100k to clear. A wide range but very expensive in any case. The Porsche a bit less, but I think you will be better off buying one already here as there are plenty. Duties are extremely difficult to tie down.

I had a chat with the Ferrari dealer and his estimated cost of a new F430 landed is $400k.

At last Sunday's MSCC meet at the Polo Club, there were a few Ferraris - Maranello, a new F430, a very low mileage TR, 308, my 246. Several Porsches, including a rare 993 GT2, MGs, Westfield 11, Datsun Fairlady, a newly restored, really nice XK120 - about 40 cars in all.

It's your typical pawnshop for jewelries, firearms, electronics, etc. Being one of the longest existing pawnshop with lots of branches in the Philippines, business has to be good. Besides I dont think there's a law in the Philippines that outlines the maximum interest rate pawnshops can implement.

If you go back to one of my post on this thread, I mentioned that I met a F430 owner named Joey Vitug during my vacation. At one time, Mr. Vitug mentioned about knowing the owner of said pawnshop. It turns out that aside from the 430 & SLR, the owner also has a Lambo Gallardo.

I dont think I mentioned the cars owned by Mr. Vitug but here they are:

    F430
    Corvette Z06
    MB SL65
    Porsche 911

He doesnt own a pawnshop but he's in the real-estate development business.

Makes me wonder if Im in the right business.

I just visited PI recently. No sighting of any F-Cars during my visit thou, but I did spot a Rosso Lambo VT (whos was that?), over at GreenBelt right next to the Italiani resto. At the same time Dolphy was dining at Italianis :) What so cool about PI, I saw more jeepneys with Ferrari logos, awesome!!! :D

...been hearing the name Villarica since last year, finally spotted one of Villaricas Pawns Shop next to Glorieta II.

**Andy, too bad we didnt get a chance to meet up. Want to thank you for the invitation to the Ferrari owners gathering that very Sunday in Makati. By the time I read your email I was over at SBMA, bummer... Send my reguards, looking forward till next time, soon...

    Mabuhay! :)
