New F430 CS caught on camera. As expected Ferrari will do the same modifications as they did on the 360 CS. This is what I know so far: -Weight 100 kilograms less. -Stripped interior, more carbonfibre. -Looks exactly the same as the Challenge version (as expected) -490 hp. Does anyone know more about this upcoming CS? Image Unavailable, Please Login
If thats the car !! I for one would be disapointed by the lack of body mods over the std F430 alone without weight etc etc. Looks like a 430C with CS rims on :-( Image Unavailable, Please Login
The Challenge version is only 160 kg lighter than the standard F430... So more than 100 kg less than the standard F430 can't be expected...
My guess is 100 kgs less than a street 430 . 100 Kg less than a CS would be amazing ! ( Would be +/-200 kgs less than 430 ! )
When I looked at the photo, I wondered, "how do you know its a 430 CS"? The only sign I can tell is it appears to have 360CS wheels, and I wonder would a 430CS come with 360CS wheels? And so, I respectfully ask; -- who took the photo -- where was it taken -- where did you get the info you claim on weight loss? -- why would it have the same HP as 430?
Yes, it's the site of a Dutch newspaper: http://autotelegraaf.nl/vanonzeredactie/?id=41035 It has the body from the Challenge as you can see at the exhausts.
It's too early to produce a special (end of production run) edition being that F430 only came into production for only 2 years.
I don't pretend to know anything about this rumored F430 CS and it seems that if/when Ferrari does produce such a car, it will come near the end of the production cycle, but let me try to answer a few questions for you anyways. The Challenge wheels are currently available on order for the F430... The photo looks as if it was snapped by someone standing outside of the Ferrari factory.... I'm with you about the quoted HP figure, doesn't make sense... Notice the script on the Challenge grille, it looks as if it could say "Challenge Stradale"... Notice the placement of the exhuast...
360 Modena had a 5 years run production before a CS being produced, So I would wait 2 or 3 more years to see any special editon comes into the market.
Exhaust location looks cool, although the openings left from the standard exhaust location look a little funny now. Challenge grill does look a little strange. I like the stock grill better. Is the only true mechanical advantage the weight savings? In my opinion the car should have more HP than the regular F430. Or maybe they have maxxed out the engine? That is possible, seeing as they are dealing with a 4.3L engine -- only so much you can squeeze out of an engine without adding cubic inches or forced induction. Just based on what is shown so far, I can't see this car being as big a hit as the 360CS.
Nope. I think it has ruined it's beautiful rear... Hope it won't... I think they should place the exhaust were it should be... and give it four tips instead of two. IMO a Ferrari should always have the double exhausts on each side, just like it should have the typical double rear lights. That's why I dislike the 599GTB's rear...
