I am thinking about lowering my 2002 360 spider. I have 19x8.5" and 20x10.5" vellano vhs wheels that will be installed. I would like to lower the car appox. 1.25" to 2.0" has anyone lowered their 360??? Photo's and specs would be appreciated. ALSO - the front of the car is lower than the rear (OEM). When lowering a 360, would you lower the car so the front and rear are the same height from the tire. OR would you lower the front and rear the same all the way around (example 1.5 all the way around) again any photo's and specs would be appreciated.
There is no way you can drop the 360 2". You are going to blow out your shocks and scrape stop sign paint. I lowered mine a conservative 1/2" and the ride is fine and it is low. You can even go a little more but be careful. Looking back I would have done some serious damage it I went another 1" Good luck. -A Edit: BTW these rims are 19"s all the way around. That car looks nice lowered 1/2". I think you could go another 1/2" all around. Are the shocks adjustable? If so, I would try to lower it so the realative clearance is equally adjusted. In other words, if stock has 5" clearance front and 8" clearance rear, try 4 & 7. Drive careful after you get it adjusted, we don't want to read about any damage. It is a fine line between the most aggressive look and the car that is a pain to drive due ot road imperfections, etc... Can't wait to see this car after all these cool modifications. Go Canes! BT
I went about 3/4" lower on my car and thats about all you will want to go keeping it within alignment possibility and driveability. Be prepared to roll your front fenders a bit.
JP lowered his car 1.25" all the way around. I wanted to be a little more aggresive, maybe 1.5" in the front and 1.75" in the rear OR it might be 1.25" in the front 1.5" in the rear to be a little conservative.
I just had my 360 lowered by 5/8" by FOA.I think it just about right--any more would have been too problematic. Sorry no pics Good Luck BD
The best is index finger space. If you do something like that though, you might want to get an adjustable damper racing system when you can customize the drop whenever you would like.
can you lower the front and rear at DIFFERENT heights (ie. lower the front by 0.5" and the rear 1.25") OR will that throw off the performance of the car???
slammed, with fender drama to prove it rm: see u at CMS in the AM, just be ready for an adventure, as we always do with these cars we mod out... Image Unavailable, Please Login
