The registration form for the Oak St. event is now on the Central States web site on the event page. This year we will only be taking 90 cars so we can space them out a little more. When we reach 90 the registration will be closed.
I just registered and was #72. So I'd say anybody who wants in better hurry. Only 18 spots left. This is a great event, don't miss out.
Yes, that certainly is a really nice event. I wish that I was healthy enough to be able to hang out all day. But, right now, I am not. But, hopefully Frankie and I will drive on down there and see all of the Cars and say Hi to everyone.
Any takers on bets whether Golden Boy will show up right as all the Oak Street participants try to leave onto Michigan Ave? Ten bucks he'll be there. Assuming Ed's device unlocks the engine.
Why yes Andreas, I WILL be there. The 328 is registered and accepted!!! #46 if I remember correctly. I may have a change of plans though about which car I am bringing and will have to clear it with Mike E....... Alright, just joking (I am actually registered though!!). I know who you are talking about with the "Golden Boy" thing. I remember the discussion from a few months back on here.... ;-) I want to see this thing.
If 'Golden Boy' continues using Ed's 'device', his engine will go bye-bye. It needs knock sensors, and Ed has told him many times what will eventually happen. By the way, the GTB is now at Ed's. I drove it there today, and was going to drive Ed to McHenry to pick up 'Little Evil'. Noticed a puddle of coolant on the garage floor. They just rebuilt the wp in Nov. Ended up driving Ed's Jag.
Billiam, I think you're getting senile. When we first met, you were young and vibrant. You had the world by its tail! But, now this.......it's sad..so sad....
Red 360 Spider with golden everything. No biggie if you forgot. More importantly: You're in this event? So I take it the Queen Bee will be put back together? That's great news!
I remember now, the guy that "profiles" around the events. I am registered for the "Main Event." "Ruby", is truly a work in progress, but the only tasks scheduled to complete at the moment, are sway-bar bushings, a good cleaning and a long ride. Skip, After the accident, my memory does still have some serious challenges, particularly when the forgotten bits, are soooooo important to me, like the GB. I am, as some have said, lucky to still be alive.
Thank you for registering for this year's Ferraris on Oak Street on June 11. Your confirmation number is 83 WOw Few Left
Nice variety from FOC. Just curious if anyone has done this event before, how is it set up, are cars parked in groups by model or at ramdom? If they're parked FCFS is it best to get there early? How early? Thanks!
If the past is any indication for this year: You have to be there early, yes. The cars are parked more or less as they arrive, hence randomly. However they do group special cars into sections (like very vintage Ferraris). With your 308 you'll park according to your arrival. Oddly enough the FCA website doesn't indicate a time, but again based on last year: I'll drive there as soon as the F1 British GP is over, so planning on making it there before 9am.
If any of you Western or Northern folks want to meet at my place and caravan down I could have coffee, juice and donuts waiting. I'm just East of O'hare and just off the Kennedy. I won't be entering in my toy since it's not accepted at that event any more, was it in three previous times when Joe Marchetti ran it., but I still plan to come down to enjoy it. Hey anyone want a passenger? So let me know if you want to meet at my place and I'll send out directions.
I forgot, Like Andreas stated you want to be down there between 8:00 and 9:00 am, so maybe meet at my place between 7:00 - 8:00 am and the caravan leaves my place at 8:00. it takes about 20-30 minutes to get there.
