I have seen that car here in Vancouver before. I dont think the guy is trying to sell anything. relax guys
Just to vent my pet peeve, those are WHEELS, not RIMS. A rim is a specific part of a multi-piece wheel. So if you want to sound like you know what you're talking about, call a wheel a wheel. Thank you. We now return to our regularly scheduled program!
yes and no, a "wheel" accutually reffers to bicyle wheel consisting of a hub spokes and rim. the nomenclature of 'wheel' in reference to an automobile with modern day alloys is acceptable only becouse the industry didn't give it another name. most alloys to day are accutually wheel rims, as they are spun from a single peice and formed with rollers to create the rim. a 3 peice "wheel" is closest to the oringinal design as it consists of a "center" hub and two hoops or "rims". FYI, the oringinal use of the word wheel was in refernce to the medevil torture device.
So what's wrong with the stock 430 rims, wheels or whatever they're called? Image Unavailable, Please Login
My friend just bought a 360 Spider and has ordered the Vellano tire-to-hub interface device for his car, 20" rear and 19" front. We saw them on a 575 at the Ferrari Challenge event at Homestead a couple weeks back and they look sweet! As soon as he saw them he wanted them. I'm sure he'll post pics as soon as they're on the car.
Judging from the pics they look close to the stock units, just chrome blinged (and the bolts). A VERY good question is how much do they weight??? Adding unsprung weight is a bad thing, and people actually WANT TO pay for lower performance like that??? And yes, they look like HRE, though am assuming the offset of these wheels are correct. Seems VERY commercial being a first post. Moderators?
Are those prices per wheel? If so, I'm impressed. Nice looking wheels IMO. I am not sure why everyone is giving the original poster such a hard time. I don't think he is selling these wheels. He may or may not have a 430 but why all the grilling? I mean without the intial post and follow up nobody would have gotten the big laugh out of the response to SMG2's post. BT
At those prices??? WAY too high IMHO. Try Kinesis as many others here on Fchat have. Real rims made for 24 hr Daytona guys,k etc. Oh, and the price may be a bit less than those other guys. STILL waiting to hear from the original poster if those rims weight 1 lbs per inch of rim or ???
I mean that I am impressed with anyone that can afford them. Either they are VERY high quality, or they are making a ton of money off them. BT
Give them a call at 909-923-6861 We looked into becoming a Vellano dealer, the customer support wasn't really there, might be different towards actual retail customers. But no returned phone calls as promised, outrageous prices, and a poor dealer network is really going to make it hard for them to compete with HRE, Kinesis, Fikse, etc.
i was about to since you posted their tele # but then... YIPES! What impressed me is that i called a few rim companies and many were in formative, those that could not care less were written off. The guys at Kinesis... we talked about cars, and track, and fun. Even had a nice conversation one day with the company owner as my usual contact was away. We discussed how he wants to get a 355... Another factor before purchase is that at track events i look around, see who is running what, ask questions, etc. BTW, just had mounted/balanced + heat cycled the new set of Mich Pilot Cups today. The tire technician balancing them calibrated his machine, then did my rims/tires and was impressed with how well balanced right off the bat things were.
