Sheheen and Daly are the WORST.... They should announce on the shopping channel, not F1.

They just babble constantly. Not any real insight. Givem Varsh / Hobbs / and Matchett (sp?) any day.

You've got to be kidding. Speed Channel coverage is 1000% better.

Speed TV's coverage is undoubtedly superior, but I'm just glad the race was on TV, period!
Was puzzled by lack of coverage of P3-22...?
I could deal w/ Daley, but the other guy repeatedly showed his ignorance.....

haha i loved when he said that...i was like um are you going somewhere with this...oh guess not just letting the world know that cars are controlled by steering wheels.

I agree the lack of coverage for the rest of the field was pretty sad, as well as not covering the yellow flags that came out a few times. (anyone noticed how the safety car was called a pace car?)

I have to agree with the majority of what's been said here. The one thing I was interested in hearing was why Daly said he thought Imola is a "boring and brutal" track. He started to explain, got sidetracked and never got back to the subject.

Ferrari, after far too long, won a race. The podium presentation is actually quite enjoyable to see Michael jump and still seem to love what he is doing. I was so excited standing there in my living room hearing the German national anthem with my son next to me standing on the coffee table waiting for the Italian anthem, and then a commercial. No Italian anthem. How can you have a race in Ferrari's back yard, have them when the race, and not here the Italian anthem! CBS you ssssuuuuuuccccckkkkkkk!

Even my 4 year old new something was wrong with that.

    Long live SPEED!

Speed TV is so much better, this CBS coverage sucks.
Can you imagine if CBS treated football the same way?

Shaheen: "Hey!!!!!!! There is a great big guy running with something, Derek.
What do you think it is!"

Daly: "I'm a wee tad sure that might be a ball, and those things up there that
everyone is sitting on are called seats, and the big thing all the seats are in is called the stadium."

Shaheen: "NO WAY!!!!!! That thing can't be a ball, it isn't even ROUND!!!, any way, I heard that the guy running has been to the SUPER BOWL. How cool is that?"

Daly: "That's fantastic, and the guy chasing him is only chasing him because he loves the game, and he's been to the Super Bowl 2 TIMES!!!"

Shaheen: "And the guy being chased has STILL been to the SUPER BOWL!!!
HOW COOL!!!!............and Derek, what is your opinion as to why those guys with the black and white striped shirts are down there on the field waving their arms around and throwing little flags in the air?"

I guess that the comments were aimed at a much broader public than the normal Speed channel viewers.

Olaf Mol in the Netherlands is much worse. According to my brother he explained onces that the flat top portion of the steering wheel was there so that the drivers have more leg room.

On the comment side it irritated me that even after about 20 laps they were still saying that MS was on a three stop strategy.

But most of all it irritated me that they had so many commercials and that they were soooooo long.

    Happy with the results though.

    Why all the hating?

I'm just glad we can see the race. I doubt they are big money makers for CBS.

Turn the volume down and enjoy next time.

Awwwww, group hug! Seriously, it's not hating, as you put it, it's just calling a bad job a bad job.

Then they should let Speed TV do it, they do a much better job.

Why not just turn the TV off and imagine it being good?

I was yelling at the TV after MS didn't come in on lap 17 that they were on a 2 stopper. They were driving me insane. And three commercial breaks before anyone even pitted was awful. I only hope someone up high in CBS is reading this board and fires those two. They made a very exciting race unbearable.

What I want to know is why would Saheen even accept this assignment knowing full well he doesn't know a thing about F1. If I was offered a broadcast spot for a sport I couldn't even begin to explain, I would turn it down and save myself the embarrassment.

    Down with CBS

Like i said in the race thread. I think that they were tallking to an auduince that hasnet really seen F1 just ppl that turned on cbs and hey a race. so they "dumbed it down" as to not leave people new to the series out in the cold wondering what they were talking about. So yeah it sucks but just think if more americans get into F1 like the rest of the world. note how many times they reffered to scott speed even though he was in 15th place but you know what I bet more americans will watch the next race to see if the american can beat everyone else (ie the world cause were like that) and bring it home. O yeah more american support possible more USGP'S so 2 hours of bad commentary may be good in the long run

whats really irritating is that they cut out the podium celebration and the post race press conference.

also , since its tape delayed why cant they show the whole race ..... i hate it when they cut to a commercial break on lap 18 ....and when it comes back on .... we're on lap 20.... i mean ...cmon ....

also on the commercial breaks ... i dont care about the geico and bmw commercials ....they are paying for the ads ...but do we really need to see frikking survivor and csi ny commercials every 3 seconds.

oh well .... i guess like someone said before .... something is better than nothing.

i dont have speed ..... so i'm just happy i can see 4 races at my house

That comment definitely made me raise an eyebrow, lol. I was also especially irritated how the podium and interviews were cut short.
