On behalf of the board of directors of the Nevada Diabetes Association for Children and Adults, I want to extend our most sincere appreciation to ExotiCorso for the spectacular auction run on our behalf Saturday evening.

Three groups of people are included in this thank you:

** The ExotiCorso organizers, who went above and beyond in setting up the auction,

** The sponsors, whose generosity in contributing items for sale was instrumental, and

** The ExotiCorso participants themselves (a number of whom are F-Chatters), all of whom were involved in the bidding at a record pace for us.

The latter group opened their wallets to the tune of nearly $60,000 in auction receipts (well over $60K, if we also include the Thursday raffle), making it NDACA's largest fund raiser ever held here by a wide margin.

A lot more diabetic kids will be able to attend our camps this summer, because of all of you. So we all cannot thank you enough.

Since we had so many items, no single one produced a major share of the total receipts. I believe the Dicky Betts may have been the highest, although several of the jewelry and art items brought nice prices. I'm not going to quote any specifics.

I have no idea the specifics of the particular Les Paul that was auctioned but there are early Les Pauls out there that will bring more than enough to buy a new 360. Maybe a couple of them. Was the guitar donated by Mr Betts or a collector?

Wish I'd have kept my old 70 something LP deluxe.

The guitar was actually new, donated by the guitar center and then signed by Dickey Betts. The estimated value on it was $2500.00. It was a beautiful guitar. I believe the orignal Christian Lassen painting fetched the highest price of the evening.

The $50 was just the minimum bid. The one that was auctioned went for a good deal more. (Since there were two, ExotiCorso used the other for its Poker Run prize.)
