    I replaced my stock filter with k&n filter in my 348. Since I have noticed a whistle at excelleration. No noise at idle or cruise. Just under hard excelleration.

    Could this be the filter or something else? Does any one else use k&n filter in there 348?

    I had a slight whistle when I installed a K&N in my 328GTS.

    Hi Doc,

    Possibly the cover to the airbox isn't situated properly.

    If not that, it's probably just guys on the street, whistling at your lovely wife as you pass by!

    At any rate, I wouldn't worry about it.

    'Excelleration'; I don't think it's a real word.......obviously, they don't teach spelling in med. school, nor penmanship!! ;)

    Try putting back the non K&N filter and see if you hear it again.

    Good idea. I will try that. Would a pulley bering cause similar noise?

    Ok Skip, acceleration. Maybe to much wine ( or whine? ). I must have been asleep during spelling class. Usually I can scribble something or dictate and get away with it.

    put k&n on my 360 same thing -whine-more air is being sucked -put BMC filters on my f430-same thing van

    sometimes the whistle is cause by the valve that regulates the idle ,it can't be heard with the more sound restrictive original filters

    Put the original paper filter back in and still makes same noise. Maybe not as noticable.

    It does seem to come from air induction. Only on hard acceleration at around 4000 - 5000 rpm's.
