Was featured in one of the Classic car mags around 18 months ago with Fiat X1/9 badges

Judging by the visible rot this car would need a complete body rebuild or one of Clive's (zertec) conversions

It could be put back on the road...........for a price (if you want a heart attack have a look at the price of new rear wings.....and thats supply only!)

I was really thinking if someone broke it it might be viable, I have seen 308 engines for up to £8.5k, if they sell or not at that is another matter!

I just think its a real shame its like that, probably an mot failure where someone has left it outside until they can afford to get it done and its ended up 10 times worse and like this, I had a Lotus once like that, wow what a bottomless pit, I learnt early on with that one!

is that an 8 rather than a Qv, he lists it as 240Bhp and as a Qv, but the centre console is different to mine

    Come again...:D
...how did X1/9 badges get involved?

There must be some value in this car - not as a project Mondy but at the right price there must be something that could be done with it?

Its an 8 (look at the centre console ;) ) as for its worth....Yes it is worth it for parts.....as long as you can sell them all and dont mind dismantling the car (and you've got somewhere to do it that conforms to all the EU rules and regs), I'll probably bid later in the week if it doesnt go much higher, but pulled a running car in better shape out of somebodys garden last week for £3.5k(currently having a major service and a holiday at the bodyshop) so this isnt worth more than its currently bid to
as for the badging ****ed if I know! maybe the originals were nicked and replaced with X1/9's for fun

Although for the price of a focus you could ship it to Singapore and have a wild and wonderfull new body put on it :D....Contact Clive (zertec) or Myself for details

£3.5k!! was that a Qv or an 8, they are getting cheaper and cheaper, I am getting worried that mondys will end up basically worthless, all I can hope is that they climb again eventually just like the Dino's did in the late 70's where you could pick them up for £2k

Prseumably its rotten underneath as well, it would still be worth it if you got it shipped over for parts, you could by that GM engined 308 that was floating about on ebay in your neck of the woods and do an engine swap!! ;-)

QV needing £4k in servicing and bodywork, will make a very very nice car when finished ;)

So what would realistically value it at then, fully serviced & excellent bodywork around £10k?

Yup £10k for an excellent QV - £12k for Conkers example......sorry to say thats the market rate for them at the moment and its not easy work selling them :(
The simple rational for the pricing is why pay £12k for a qv when you can get a far newer 3.4t for almost the same amount, the example Karl Verdi has for sale at the moment is pretty much perfect and isnt much more.

Sorry to say that as the newer cars become cheaper through increased supply prices for the unloved cars will continue to drop....until they become desirable as classics like were all seeing with the 308Gt4's and cab 400 / 365 2+2's

Maybe we should have a Fchat UK market letter on the forum?

I still see mine as £13k value and it is not mint, especially as I have now put carbon buckets and carbon door cards in it, I know what you are saying about the 'T's, mind you I am still selling my friends one, I love the performance of the 'T' but I don't like the look of the sidevents (too small and square (3.2 Qv is my favourite)

I know what you are saying about the price drop, a few years ago I was into older Lotuses and Mg's etc.. and now they are double the value ten years ago, so hopefully the slump will pick up in a few years, I will never sell mine, I just don't want a Ferrari that ends up common and worthless

The Fchat Uk Market Letter sounds great, I have details of every Mondy 8 Qv 3.2 & T that has sold on ebay in the last few years (How sad am I, am I on pars with trainspotters!), that would be great for potential new buyers

I'm surprised why the Mondial, especially the QV, is so undervalued. I bought my QV just under two years ago as a toe-in-the-water to the Ferrari ownership experience and never looked back. It's been reliable, comfortable, easily outhandles a friend's 308 GTS and is IMHO the perfect introduction to Ferrari ownership. Build quality for an Italian car of this vintage is also remarkable.

Practical is a label I don't like using, but it is certainly one applicable to the Mondial. The rear seats are eminently usable, the luggage capacity is good and the QVs have one major advantage for less pecunious owners - servicing costs are relatively low.

Add this to the fact that it is a usable four seater mid-engined coupé and the Mondial is unique.

The simple answer is because the 3.2's and 3.4's are also undervalued, the QV's whilst a great car (I've got 2 and have had several) is not quite as good to drive and live with than the later cars which have higher perfomance and even better build quality combined with all the good Mondial traits (4 seats good visibility lots of luggage space)
As I've already said only somebody who really really really wants a QV would pay more for one than they would for a 3.2 (currently ranging from £10k ish to £14K) or 3.4t (£11.5K to £20k)

Ferraris deprecaite.....maybe a bit slower for the older cars than with Porsche or other premium brands but the still drop in value

    Hi Nitrous'

36K miles, excellent condition and asking £12,995 - but it looks like the price will be open to negotiation a little!

    The car is here:

    Hi Mark

Yes I see it five minutes after replying to this thread, unless you are desperate I would hold out on the price, I think they are well worth the money

    Hi Nitrous' and Malcqv

Your words of encouragment are most welcome- if the price of £10K mooted is for real, then it won't get sold - I like it too much to give it away.

I might just be prompted to go the modification route and make it an even better car. Norwood's electronic fuel injection conversion would the first item on the list...

    Cheers

    Mark

Mark, Now your talking my language, I am in the process of deeply modifying mine (as I will never sell it, I will give it to my son when he's 17, he's 3 at the moment so i've got 14 years to save for an F40!!), anyway I have stripped it out and already lost over 40Kgs replacing what I can with carbon Fibre, door cards seats etc..., and I still have a lot of weight to lose (me as well as the car!!), I will then uprate the suspension Bushes/Shocks/Brakes and then move onto the engine, I already have an advanced nitrous kit with a Carbon Fibre bottle to fit and I am then looking at uprating the ignition, I was looking at the Nick Forza Setup @ $1495 (see link below), then maybe a twin turbo or supercharger, but these last two options will be a good couple of years, the only thing I have really done wrong is sell all the bits I am removing rather than wrap them in sacks and store them so the whole process is reversible
